Yepp, my exact thought! Memsy's also echoes mine.

Get yourself a new one Sir G. Perhaps you could ask you parents for some financial aid. A Mouse is a must have.

Put basicaly. Yeah. i cant understand why anyone Wouldnt have an optical mouse as they are now cheap, last longer, and are very hard to screw up. (unless you have a habbit of hammering your mouse into the mouse pad ). i didnt realise that anyone still owned non-optical mice!
Well some of us get along just fine with the plain old mouse and don't need any upgrades.
I'd check the mouse pad first before replacing your mouse, then if that doesn't help, then go get a new mouse.

I was using the ball mouse for a long time but I was sick of cleaning the damn thing, plus the roller gets worn out quite a lot and caused the mouse to be less responsive over time. Finally I got myself a Logitech optical mouse and suffice to say, I am damn happy with it.

Light Bulb

Your concern over the misunderstanding engendered by this thread's title is only exceeded by a worrying obsession with my foibles.

Just for your information, there are no active mouse balls attached to my equipment - I've gone optical
