Seph, make sure you take your new puppy into the vet as soon as possible and have it checked for worms and given a thorough deworming. Pounds are...very bad about being rampant with parasites. Virtually every exam I've done from an animal shelter has at least Ancylostoma, and Toxocara, sometimes Taenia or Trichuris too. Ummm oops I mean hookworm, roundworm, tapeworm, and whipworm lol sorry. He might also have heartworm. So it's best to have him completely checked now before they cause him any problems. Enjoy him, puppies are da bomb!

I hope you know what a big-ass responsibility having a puppy is, cause people that dont are the reason why dogs end up in pounds in the first place.
Still, not to be a wetblanket! Enjoy the puppy! Its such a JOY toilet-training it not to pee wherever it wants. Its been years and still my dog doesnt get it ..
