If it was a nuke explosion on mars I think we can now conclude that there is NO life of any kind on mars (anymore?)

As far as I know, gibberlings were originally Xvarts that has been crippled of too much radiation. It is like the changes of Smeagol to Gollum because of too much interference from 'The One Ring'.

Crippled perhaps, but they get a 20% bonus to their constitution, cuz they are a some what tougher bunch! Thats why gibberling hunting is sooo much more fruitfull then Xvart hunting. Besides, I get stunned by the Xvarts high pitched scream...
