Calaethis, if you had read my post more closely, you would see that we are on our way to the weaponsmith and long gone from the seamstress [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Alliene nodded,

"Yes, we're on our way to the weaponssmith now. He does enchant some of his work, do not worry," she led her group down the muddy road(though the mud could not touch them in the bubble) and into a large shop. Besides the sweltering heat of the forge, the place was really pleasant: All classes of weapons hung categorized from the wall; swords with swords and axes with axes. A few were in display cases, the enchanted works. Against the wall behind the large blacksmith was all of the armour, from soft leather to hulking plate. The blacksmith saw Alliene and bowed with a small smile, that she returned. Turning to everyone, she kept her smile,

"Go on then, pick out what you'd like...then tell Verloren and I. We will be...happy to pay for it" her smile became forced and Verloren snickered from behind a sword case.

ic:Khalraan's eyes were immediately caught by a glistening sword, hanging in a display case, he left Skye's hand, and shot up to it, nearly sticking his nose to the glass case. It had a beautiful hilt, carved into the ornate shape of a silver dragon breathing fire along the shimmering blade. He opened the case, and took the blade out, it was not heavy, and made for a child, his small hand fitted around it perfectly. He heard Calaethis walk up behind him, and turned, his eyes glistening.
Calaethis inspected the blade that Khalraan held in his hand. He looked at it admiringly. "Beautiful piece of work you have there Khalraan. Perhaps we could spar sometime, and practise against each other. Maybe if we're lucky one of the 'adults' would lend a hand and help to teach you how to weild that thing."
"Perhaps it would be a good idea if dear cousin provided you with a suit of armour as well; wouldn't do to have you spitted on an enemy blade. Although, you *will* be staying out of the combat. Nothing to heavy, perhaps leather or elf chain." Cal nodded half to himself and looked the child up and down. "yes, it would be a wise precaution for you to have some protection. Anything heavier then elf chain, and you'd be unable to hide in the shadows."
"What do you think Ali?" he said turning to his cousin.
Khalraan stood there, with a grin on his face.

Aeris looked at the items.They were fine crafted indeed. These weapons are very well made. You did an extremely good job on them. Aeris kept looking around and then looked at the armor he looked at his own.His admantine chainmail the provided heat and cold resistence and decideed that it was good enough. He then looked at a beautiful longsword behind a case.The pommel was gold with a diamond encased in it. The handle was wrapped in leather.The hilt went across in the shape of black dragon.The blade curved in from the hilt and went straight up into a fine point.One the blade were elven runes. The blade seemed to glow an eerie white light.
Blacksmith,this blade here,what does it do?

I read it, and couldn't be bothered to - er, that is to say, I couldn't really think of anything else to post. my appologies my lady, if I have in anyway caused offence, please forgive me - it was unintentional. *grins and bows sardonically* also, "ammended" Kris's post a little. Bah, having my char speak like some commoner! ( to skye). edit; now to post some more before being thrown off the net by ...parents.

Calaethis finished speaking to the child and walked over to Dameon. "Tell me" he asked, "what would be your advice on a good blade? Since you yourself are a blacksmith, I thought it might be... prudent to ask your advice. I just want a servicable blade - nothing flashy or fancy. The weight and balance should be right - and the sharpness as well as the hilt and crossguard." Calaethis bowed slightly, and said "I'd be honoured if you would help me choose one." Calaethis's brow creased as he thought. "I'm more inclined to get a good blade - one of masterwork quality then a shoddy one with enchantments on. After all, a blade can be enchanted later - but a you cannot rework a poor one without resmelting the thing." He grinned and continued. "I think I'd prefer a longsword. And perhaps... two katanas, if they have them - as backup weapons." He smiled grimly. "I doubt I'd be able to carry more, not that I'd need them. Although, a two handed katana, I forget the correct term, not a greatblade - might be useful." Calaethis stopped and paused thinking about it. "No, as much as it would be useful, unless I had a bag of holding or something, I doubt I'd be able to carry it. Longswords about 4 to 6 ft in length if I recall. Bastard blades are longer. Hmm." Calaethis continued to think out loud. "I think I'd like a slightly longer longblade then normal. Not quite as long as a bastard sword..." he paused "oh forgive me, what are you thoughts on this?"

When Dameon had answered; Calaethis called his cousin over, ignoring the animosity between the two 'adults'. "Cousin," he asked "Do you have a bag of holding, or a smiliarily enchanted bag you could give or loan me?"

***OOC, I can't quite remember the specs for a longblade - IF I had bg or bg2 installed, I'd go check, but I don't and I can't be bothered to install it and make a character just for that [img]tongue.gif[/img] . ***

While the blacksmith is not paying attention to him Shadow takes advantage of the situation and grabs a few throwing daggers that were at the back of the shelf, which he quickly slips into his boot.

The blacksmith strode over to where Aeris was and took the blade, examining it. He smiled suddenly,

"Oh yes, I remember making this. You fight anything with a hint of evil in 'em and it slays them outright it does. Also has a tad bit of electrical damage. Er...havn't given it a name, but I trust the owner of it will, when it's time comes," he nodded to himself and walked to stand with Alliene and Verloren, who handed him money for Aeris's sword, and gave a small bow, "Greetings again, your highnesses. How fare your blades?"

Alliene smiled and pulled out her swords. The smith looked them over and nodded, "You did a fine job on those, yep. Best blade I ever did see mad ein my own shop; which the forge is free for you to use when you need it again," he reached out to stroke the glowing blue blade of Vilzraquath and chuckled when his hand passed through the enchanted steel, "Never did quite remember how you did that," he muttered with a rueful shake of his head. He looked over the tight black leather on the hilt and the sapphire tassel with an approving nod. He did the same with Isan and Isak, "Women take better care of everything, don't matter what it is..."

"Excuse me," Verloren snatched a rag out of the smith's apron and unbuckled her half-plate, scrubbing it vigorously till it shone like new, "Thank you, it was looking a little dull," she stuffed the rag back into his pocket and strapped her armour on with a smile.

Alliene made her way over to her cousin and Khalraan, noticing the child was staring at a gleaming sword that seemed to fit him just right,

"Let me see that, child," she took the blade and swung it around, doing small forms with it, testing its speed and balance. She handed it back, "An excellent blade," she gestured to the smith and plopped some platinum into his hand, "For this sword,"
The man nodded, a bit stunned. Alliene untied one of her belt pouches and checked inside it, pulled out a few rings and jewels, then handed it to Calaethis, "Here. Holds just as much as a bag, but so much more convenient because of its size," she tucked her jewelry into her other pouch and patted Khalraan on the head, "I'd be glad to teach you how to use that, young one, but first..." Alliene walked to the wall of armour and was met by Verloren, who was holding forest green chain,

"I saw what you were doing, this should fit the child fine. It has some extra defence enchantments(ooc-around +3) so he won't get skewered," Verloren handed the smith some gold and put the chain over Khalraan's head, "Perfect she said with a smile.
The smith came over with a belt and a fine leather scabbard, handing it to Khalraan, "That goes with your sword, lad,"

Alliene looked around, "Looks like we're about done. Ready everyone?"

ooc-Leg Eater, Khalraan's leather scabbard will be colored with your choice, worked with silver or gold or whatever. Same with the belt. I suggest black to go with your cloak [img]smile.gif[/img]

edit: also, since none of you were in Hazardous Times, I'll post my 2 pics of Verloren, and one of Alliene. Shes different, since in my book Alliene is the evil side of Verloren, so shes not drow or blue skinned, lol

ic: Skye had smiled at Khalraan's pleased reaction to the sword he had discovered, and had spyed a few interesting trinkets here and there. Nothing had really caught her attention, since she already had her trusty bastard sword. A small dagger caught her attention though, and she was so busy goggling in awe at it that she didn't even hear Alliene address the group.

Like the blades the others had seen, it also had a dragon on it (ooc- sensing a trend here.. ). This had a dragon head, its jaws clamped tightly around the blade of the small, deadly weapon. For its eye, a menacing amethyst coloured jewel glistened. She smiled slightly at that, remembering an old, old friend of hers. Picking the dagger up, Skye noticed it was light, like dragon bone, probably spelled to be like that, and it had perfect balance.

Pulling her bastard sword out, she saw that, strangely enough, they both seemed to have been made by the same creator, both baring very similar designs. Skye was unsure who had created her previous weapon, and the dagger was just as mysterious. She was busy pondering this thought when Alliene asked if everyone was ready..

ooc edit: loverly images LHEL and lb. you draw it LHEL? [img]smile.gif[/img] LB, nice anime *grins* [img]smile.gif[/img] I'm working on my drawing myself.. unfortunately, my computer illiterate mom picked out my scanner, so it doesnt scan well hopefully I'll be good enough to draw like that

Alliene checked the price of the dagger Skye had and payed the smith. She really hoped everyone was happy. New weapons would help in the House battle.

ooc-noooonono Skye i did not draw those. The best i can draw is a horsey, and it looks lopsided, lol. Those 1st 2 were drawn by my ex when we were still going out, and the one of Alliene was after. He thinks he's no good at drawing...heheh, strange guy [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Well your gonna get one, too bad [img]tongue.gif[/img] Just call it Alliene's influence on Cal [img]tongue.gif[/img] *hides* Her distaste for humans has rubbed off somewhat on him - altho in a different form [img]tongue.gif[/img] (call it a character flaw - he IS youngish after all, and slightly naive - you'll just have to "correct" him [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

Calaethis waited patiently for Dameon to reply - and since he didn't imediatly, Calaethis addressed his cousin instead. He bowed deeply and thanked her, and grinning, raised her hand to his lips and kissed it. His eyes were filled with wry amusement. "Thank you for your most generous gift m'lady" he said teasingly. Then he embraced her quickly, and kissed her cheek. Since they were in the shadows no-one was likely to see them (hint hint); except any other nearby party members. Calaethis softly asked "If they don't have blade here to my liking... would... you comission one for me, please?"

IC: At the hint of the word "evil" Aeris took a small step back. He knew he was'nt exactly evil,he was with a good person with a streak of darkness in him.He was'nt sure of being able to wield the blade. He made up his mind and decided to get the blade. He walked up to Alliene. Uh,this blade,the one over here looks good.This is the one I want. Aeris was'nt used to asking someone to pay for his equipment seeing as he usually paid for his own.

OOC: If I could I would send a picture of Aeris.
