OOC>>> I am now finalising Sorsha's sub-plot, based on what has been posted so far. Please go on with your own sub-plots; I am in no hurry to finish this No other plans for the other characters yet, but I will start dumping some characters if we want to do more interaction between the 3 of us Okay, bedtime

Sorsha

She moves around the rooms in half a daze, her eyes poring over every corner. As she walks towards the desk, instinct tells her to pull out the drawers...

Holding her breath, she picks up the diary and dusts it, before opening it carefully. The random page picked by her curious eyes yields the following passage:

I cannot believe the adorable babe is now fully formed, a true lady if there ever was one. Yet her mannerisms remain childlike, and I fear for her safety. The burden of responsibility rests heavily on my shoulders, and I dread the day the secret is revealed. The waif visits the woods often these days... far too often, in my opinion. Her feeble protests, I can tolerate; it is the deceit which pains me. I must find out more about her activities, without incurring Jocelyn's wrath. I cannot understand women. I don't think I ever will... P

As she flips through the remaining pages, she realises that no dates have been recorded ~ How secretive Philip has been all these years. ~ Glancing around the room, she discovers that there are still some valuables strewn across the dressing table.

Momentarily, she stares indecisively at the gems and necklaces ~ If I do not take them, some other looters will. ~ She reaches out and grasps them, shoving them into the pockets of her robe before hurriedly walking back.

Discovering that Legolas is no longer in the main room, she suddenly feels quite lost. She steps out of the house, in search for him.

Jaime

Hearing the door close for the second time in the other room told him that the house was vacated. He scooted out from under the bed, pouted that the woman had taken the best stuff that he had not yet found, and made his way to the window sill. Trying to open the window in that room was not going to happen. The window was sealed shut by rust or something. Quickly running to the room that he entered by, he reopened it and stepped out into the alleyway. All he had to do now was make it over the fence...He ran up to the fence and began to climb.

Legolas

Ignoring the stares of the villagers, Legolas searches the ground around the house. No tracks are visible other than those made by normal people going about their daily buisness, and by Legolas and Sorsha. He contnues to walk around the house, now nearing the back where a great fence separates the garden from the woods. Here he finally discovers two sets of tracks, one leading to and one leading from the house. They appear to be mansize, being little over a foot in length. The imprints in the mud are only barely visible, and it seems the person who made them was traveling very lightly, but was adept at sneaking as well. From the distance between the imprints, Legolas reckons it would be a rather tall man or woman.

Turning to go back into the house, the ranger's ears pick up another sound. Someone is moving through the garden, nearing the fence.
Not liking the sound of it, Legolas crouches down in the shadow and waits.

Ni Deng

He had been working in the garden for many long hours. A short man, Ni Deng was well suited for the task of pulling out weeds. Where others would be glad to train in the dojo, Ni was happy outside.

The old man was well respected though, none of the other monks daring to challenge him. Because he was too good? Or because of his scent? Ni had not found out so far, and was not planning to either. He was content.

As he was throwing a bucket of waste water through the grated hole, Ni could hear a scream. It came from the sewers.

"Excusing me!" he shouted down, his voice having a strange accent.

Unconcerned, he turned back to his voluntary tasks.

OOC: Ni Deng will be joining the sewer fighters shortly, I think. Or, he'll start off on a new adventure. We'll see.

Sorsha

As she steps out of the house, she struggles to appear expressionless, but the result is a mixture of awkwardness and fear. Avoiding all other eyes, she concentrates on locating Legolas; it seems that she is fast growing dependent on him and the thought disturbs her.

Treading carefully around the house now, her eyes flit across the fence and spies the intruder, his back turned against her and halfway up the fence.

With an indignant cry, she shouts out ~ "Hey, you! What do you think you're doing?" ~ And a newfound courage mingled with anger finds its way into her pounding heart. Her right hand swings up the sling in one motion, while the left picks up a few pebbles from the ground. Whirling them now, she takes aim at him and almost gasps as she watches the pebbles strike his head one by one.

His grip on the grilles of the fence loosens...

Damien

As the ghoul collapses onto the ground lifeless, he heaves a sigh of relief, glad that he has performed as he should. The presence of Gavrouche and Raymond was now getting onerous, yet he could not possibly send them away, having allowed them to join him.

Turning to the bard now, he hurries towards her, bending down ~ "Can it be fixed?" ~ Noting the forlorn look on her pixie-like face, he ignores all other sounds that seem to echo in the corridor. There is no reply, and he grits his teeth as he sees the remnants of the harp.

"Do not worry, Eliza. Once we have some money, I... I'll get you a new one... or have that fixed for you."

Gavrouche

Before he realises what is going on, he finds himself drenched to the skin and gives a yell that bounces off the walls of the corridor. Scaring the wits out of the lad, who had seemed rather heroic earlier. Cursing himself now for this gut reaction, he takes a sniff at his clothes and wrinkles his nose.

"Excusing me!" ~ A booming voice blasts from above and he glances up to see a grated hole, partially covered by some darkish shadow. Several thoughts bombard his mind quickly ~ Probably whomever's feet... he could be of some use to us...perhaps tell us more about the treasure or this sewers... in any case, no time to lose! ~ Without a word, he rushes back towards the stairs and climbs upwards, determined to speak to the person.

Eliza

Caught unawares by the genuine tone of Damien's voice, she almost reluctantly looks at him. It is the first time she has really paid attention to this knowing, dangerous man and now she admits to herself that he almost has a right to be so self-loving.

His blonde hair shines even in the darkness of the surroundings, and it is of just the right length, neatly combed. And the brilliant gray eyes that pierce right through one's soul... they are mesmerising. Every feature on his face seems chiselled in accordance with some ideal beauteous male. The handsomeness is too much to bear, and she turns away abruptly.

"It isn't important." ~ Feeling guilty that her tone seems harsh ~ All he wants to do is to please me. ~ Yet her heart remains unmoved ~ It is Raymond's fault... he has stolen it, I suspect.

Jaime

"Ouch! "Woah!"..."Arrhhh..!".
Jaime crashed to the ground, his head stinging badly after being assaulted with the pebbles from his attacker's sling. Landing wrongly after falling, He can't get up so quickly, since everything hurt. His body decided for him that the best thing to do for the moment was lay there and wait for his punishment. What choice did he have? Damn his luck.

================================================== ==================

Raymond

The crisis was averted, that strange guy, Gavrouche had ran up top to chase after somebody, and Damien and Eliza were becoming fast friends, seemingly. Raymond did not know what to do in such an awkward moment. He decided to go up top behind the crazy guy.

Sorsha

Rushing forward, she grasps his arm as tightly as she can with her left hand ~ "Murderer!" ~ She hisses, her eyes narrowing. A tear rolls down her cheek ~ "Tell me why you killed them, for I swear I'll kill you if you don't..." ~ All the while doubting her own ability, but the pain and fury within adding strength to her voice.
