I feel that as a "founder" member of K.A.K. that I should air some opinion on the subject of our society's aims. It has never been the foundation of K.A.K. to keep the Kobold in the wretched state that it is in now. It has merely been the necessity of it's members to question the nature of B.Y.O.B.'s methods. K.A.K. has never been against the betterment of any race or individual; however, the "improvement" of that race or individual must not come at the price of stability and sufferage that races and societies in and around the Sword Coast now presently enjoy.
To place the gold piece in the other hand, whilst the notion of effective management (sic) of the so-called monster races has never been denegrated as a blanket response, it is the methodology of that motion which is questioned. It is not the WHY, but the HOW which concerns us. A notion of universal sufferage is a noble goal, but how much worse could the world be if that goal is not achieved through aims and motivations that are really constructed to improve the lot of Faerûn rather than a social experiment where the makers lose faith at a near hurdle? K.A.K. members ask only that the matter be thought through thoroughly. Properly. Before action takes place that will affect us all. Do not the citizens of this society have a say in the affairs of the state?

Ah, it is good to see Mr. Brass back on the floor after his extended absence. I see that the trip has not adversely affected your razor sharp intellect. Careful and deliberate integration is precisely what Mr. Baggins and I have been proposing, although we may have been slightly negligent in relaying that fact to our esteemed colleagues. Yes, the experimental integration process, just outside of Mr. Baggins' hometown has been successful to this date. We did encounter a surly individual of the name of Shady, that attempted to disrupt the classes with a few arrows shot through an open window, but he was promptly dealt with by the authorities. Rumor has it that this individual, Shady, now spends most of his time running in circles. Three students at the academy were having difficulties in their studies, and have been transferred to the kitchen. Larry, Daryl and Daryl are now quite happy and productive working in the kitchen.

Nobody as yet has put a word for yet another kobold role in entertainment: replacement in the traditional trollkin role in Runequest's Trollball. Since Kobolds have shorter arms than trollkin, they can be flung with more accuracy from player to player (although there is less whip-snap than with a true trollkin shot into goal).

Koball - now theres a sport for you. Although I have concerns that the Koballs might not be tough enough to survive a match, there are always more Koballs around to replace them.

Have anyone ever asked the kobolds IF they want to be civilized and educated? Maybe they just happens to like their current lifestyle. Maybe they just want to live in their own community, without interference from halflings and other so called civilized cultures.
Maybe they just like the sport of killing and being killed. After all their genes seems to support their bad habit of getting killed by adventures all the time, by making the kobolds able to reproduce themselves at a very fast rate. Insane

Looking at Lord Brass' latest statement, it becomes clear to me that, instead of being opposites, the KAK and BYOB factions are very much alike. The main difference being the amount of precautions each side wishes to see being taken.
Whilst I must applaude the KAKs desire for care, and disapproval of rash actions, I feel I should also state that the experiment the BYOB has agreed to set up has indeed been carefully thought out. Indeed, how better to determine the effects of Kobold Integration on other races than through actual integration on a safe level? However, I must also express my doubts as to Mr. Baggins' current approach. Education is a fine thing, but one should take into account that dogs, rats and indeed, kobolds, have a much shorter lifespan than the average human. And still would even if adventurers stopped killing them. By putting the focus on this education, you may make the kobold more aware of the other races it is to live with and the possibilities it has in life, but you are also taking away a major part of that life. More importantly even, educating the kobold will undoubtedly result in the loss of an important part of Kobold Culture. Therefor it is my hope that future generations of kobolds will be allowed, not only to integrate, but also to allow the kobold their very own place in society, to remind them of the past, as well as allow them to share the better aspects of their culture with members of other races. Thank you. On a side note, I feel that at this point I should mention that, though I strive to be impartial, I have in the past slain a good deal of kobolds myself. I will also have to apologise to the tabloids, for taking away a potentially good story ![]() |

Legolas is true in his statement that the line between the factions of KAK and BYOB are blurring...of course there will always be the extremist factions of both sides of the integration issue (read that Grungi) but I believe that the more intelligent and broad-minded of the two factions are slowly beginning to find common ground...I laud my praises upon Lord Brass and the fact that the views that he voices are slowly becoming more middle of the road and open to comprimise than they have been in the past...I hope that I am able to moderate my views with as much elegance as he...In other news the Kobold integration colony has made great strides of late that I am VERY proud to report...First off we have our first Kobold staff member as the great Fuzzy Lumpkins has agreed to join us in our quest for Kobold integration...His primary duties will be using his real-world adventuring experience in the classroom to prepare our young Kobolds for the dangers that they will face in the outside world before full KI is a reality...By using his talents to teach our students about the evils of bounty hunters and the ranks upon ranks of people who will try to abuse their naive status to make a quick buck at their expense as well as using his paladin skills to educate them in the morals of our society he will add a level of personal attention and credibility to the students of our program that would have been previously unattainable by staff without him...In regards to the use of schooling on such a short lived race we have already begun to see a lengthening of our students lifespan due to increased mental activity, cleaner living environments and proper health care...While it used to be an abnormality to see a elderly kobold who was able to pass on the wisdom of the race to later generations...we now believe that we may expect Kobolds to live upto 45 years...true short by human standards but nearly four times the present Kobold average....We will continue to work hard for Kobold integration and keep all of our fellows informed of our actions at the village.

I note a destinct lack of setbacks in that last report there. It is almost unheard of for a project of this complexity to go this smoothly at this stage. Are you hiding something Baggins, or is Grungi's rambling above about you wanting to take over the Sword Coast closer to the mark than most of us would have thought? I realy hope not, I am rather fond of the place.
lso, relaying your setbacks shall be far more useful than your successes in preparing for integration on a wider scale, should that unfortunately come to pass. Anyway, as my contribution to this project, I shall desist in my habit of slaying Kobolds on sight (excepting those that attack myself, as I am rather attached to this skin and if anythings going to penetrate it, it will fight for the privilige) but make no garauntees or promises regarding the Tasloi, Xvarts, Goblinoids or any of the other demi-humanoid races.
