Well, I could understand the need for skimpy armor.

Having worn various suits of armor, platemail, scale, chainmail, wicker banded mail, etc, I think they all suck toe personally.

I have worn some great suits of plate. And some not so great as mentioned. Under all the leather, padding, chainmail, etc, all the underarmor, you sweat buckets. I mean rivers of sweat actually pour from your body. It's hot and itchy. It's like being inside a steam bath or a suana. There is NOTHING sexy about a knight in shining armor. You stink. BAD. You get helmet hair. You think wearing a 20 pound great helm will make you look attractive? Hell no. With 20 pounds of iron or steel on your noggin, you start turning into a hunchback. And with that helmet in place, you get a whiff of just how SOUR you smell. It pinches, as I have mentioned. Any woman wearing plate mail is not sexy either. They don't smell like a summer's eve or baby powder, or Channel #5 or what ever a woman usually smells like. A woman takes on the smell of a sampler platter from Captian Jacks Crab Shack left out in the sun for far to long. It's actually worse for a woman.

I don't care if you are a man or a woman. If you just got undressed from wearing full plate, you aint sexy.

Humourless girl alert!

This has what to do with SOA?
Maybe this is why the fora are so testosterone oriented (see another thread).

A whole bunch of retarded custom portraits. Go surf some of the custom portrait sites and be prepared to be astonished.

Skimpily armoured males are actually also rather common. Like the barbarians who has their arms totally covered in plates and gauntlets, but their chest and neck completely bare and their crotch only protected by a piece of fur.

The saddest thing is that all this stuff is made by established fantasy artists.

Now that makes sense. Only if I'm an uberer do I play a roamncable NPC with a str of more than 12. It just doesn't make sense, really, you want your NPC to be attractive, you tone down strength and constitution and up charisma. (i then use Aribeth as a portrait-from NWN.

Butters, you said it man.

P.S. I don't mean to interupt the thread, by all means carry on, but how do you quote people?

Thanks Decurion

Chainmail bikini - youch! Maybe for lounging, but adventuring? Now maybe if it had lining or somesuch, but Timber says it'd be see-through... *sighs* honestly men, lets think logistics! Chain-link skin pinch = Bad Naked

LOL Kaltia, ditto on the chainmail Y-fronts . I was watching a cricket special and one guy was describing an incident with a ball into the protector... the protector had little holes and, well... the visual it created wasn't pretty

I have to admit, I did always like my female PCs to have attractive gear. A butch fighter in full plate wasn't up to it. Though neither were scrawny male bard/mages with weird leg attire either . I loved the female mage frock from BG1, was very disappointed in the BG2 outfit. They wanted to look good for the menfolk; adventuring and being a bhaal-spawn is no good for your femininity after all! *hangs head* How un-feminist of me

In addition to that, I'd say that the biggest problem would conflict completely with the reason you all want chain mail bikinis in the first place... You want it to be see-thru, but can you imagine how stinky hot that metal would get in the sun? And how insanely cold it would be once the sun went down? Before you know it, your once dreamy object of desire is sporting a not-so-sexy reverse farmer tan and maybe even a little blistery burny goodness all over her bits n'pieces. Reverse sunburned blister mama = NOT SEXY

Reeka looks good, but I dunno how effectively she'd be able to fight, ESPECIALLY being a monk, in that gear... she'd be popping out all over the place and... wait, maybe you're onto something here
