I played a bit of it. It is good but certainly not as instantly addictive as the BG games I agree. The mountains of dialogue takes the edge off of it for me. I suppose maybe that's why the story line is so good, built up in the text between the characters, dunno.
There's also stuff I still don't get. Can you be multi-classed, running 2 classes at once? I was a bit miffed when I lost my fighter status and started as a level 1 rogue. I thought I'd get my F class back when I overtook its level with my rogue level. Seems I lost 5 or 6 classes of Fighter that I could have put into Rogue earlier.

Great game, unforgettable NPC's but the lack of a Multiplay version definitely hurt it commercially, as well as the fact that you cannot dual-class, as Charlie found out. I found it much simpler and more fun to go through the game as a fighter (with high INT/WIS/CHA) and leave the thieving to Annah and the magic to others.

I went through as a mage. The high spell level cutscenes were fantastic.
Charlie, if you have Dakkon and Annah in your party, you can switch between the three classes at will. It's better to focus on one class, but sometimes it's good to switch to get attribute increases only available to that specific class. Simply talk to Dakkon about things you want to *know* and he'll train you back to fighter at the level you left off. |

Yorick, I agree with the high-level spell aminations, but after all that, you don't do all that much damage, as opposed to about three blows from The Justifier. But, to each his own. I like using Dak'Kon as mage, and Annah, of course, as the thief.
