Maybe a quick dumb question but...

Is there any way to increase your constitution in the game?

A permanent increase? Only the hell-test and MoLtM (ToB).
The Potion of Fortitude will set your Constitution to 18, and the Priest-spell Draw Upon Holy Might will also increase your Con, though, but these are both temporar.

mmmgood ideas, this is mainly because I have Vic in my party and she has such a low Con, she can cast draw upon holy might, and I guess I'll have to find a few potions of Fortitute

thanks

can you raise constitution with the deck of many things? or was that some other stat? damn this memory of mine!

Edit: Thinking of starting an evil fighter in BG1, give him like 18 to the main stats and Int, 12 to wis and 10 to cha. by the end of BG1, assuming i find all the tomes, he would have his stats around 19/19/19/19/14/11, right? than i would make him wizard slayer in BG2, grand mastery in quarterstaff, dual to mage around level 18, going solo until now, take a tank or two, raise the mage, boot the tanks. In hell, by doing the quests right i could have a potential character with stats of 21/19/21/19/14/11. after the MoLtM, i could add 1 to con and perhaps others(dont remember all the affects) and with deck of many things 1 or 2 stat points. just think how GODLY this character would be, using of course the staff of magi and srongarm for ranged weapon, or perhaps sling of everard. that would be pretty cool. think of the regeneration and stuff.

IIRC Assuming you have TotSC, there are three Wiz bosting books. So you would really be:
19/19/19/19/15/11

There is a belt that boosts your constitution up to 18 for 8 hours a day. This is really nice, I gave it to Aerie before a battle and she gets about 20 more hit points for that duration.

that would be 2 hit points per level extra.

to get a hit point penalty, your con has to be really low, but for bonuses it is the following:
15: +1 hit point/level.
16+: +2 hit points/level.

fighters (and their kits) get
17: +3 hit points/level.
18: +4 hit points/level.
19: +5 hit points/level.

after that i'm not sure how many bonus hit points you get, but for each point above 19 you regenerate about 1/6th wound per round.
