Well as for the question, "Discuss the difference between analogue and digital transmission."
Analog signals are basically electromagnectic waveforms and they fluctuate and change continuosly. Where as digital signals change from one state to another almost instantaneously, similar to ones and zeros or on and off. Digital signals are less vulnerable to errors from interference (caused by flouresent lighting near a cable). Oh, and anolog is less vulnerable to attenuation (or signal loss) from say, the length of a cable. There is also differences in how the two are measured, but I don't know if you need to that. I hate to say it but that's about all I can answer from your said questions.

Also, you may want to check out, howstuffworks.com it is an awesome website that will explain any thing from how a nuclear bombs works to how the U.N. functions. I just got done snoopin' around the site and saw that it may be able to answer some of your other questions.
Also, you may want to try, pcguide.com as it seems that some of your questions fall under the realm of computer and networking technology. You may just want to go ahead and make some simple queries on a search engine like askjeeves.com or google, you will often find links to webpages/sites of a science/physics professor who documents his lab procedures and or past lectures. Good luck!

You're very welcome.
Oh and I saw that you still need more information regarding compact discs, here is a link that should shed some light on that topic. http://www.howstuffworks.com/search.php It's the results from a search that I made on that site, the middle column of that page ought to give you all the info you need regarding CDs.
