Weirdly, I have helped my Mum to make the family ancestors tree, and I am both entirely French (according to current frontiers) and not at all (from what French frontiers have mostly been during history). Peasants mostly tended to stay where they were born. I have several branches entirely set in one small village !
Thanks bunches Moraine! I never can remember how it's spelled.

LOL...Yeah, most of the Scottish and Irish in me is peasant stock, but I am vaguely related to the English royals...hmmmm...wonder if I can start calling the Queen 'auntie'?

Mmmmmmmm...I am soooooooo looking forward to the opportunity to take a crack at the cellar. Although, I dont know if you'll think I'm as much a barbarian as Cloudy does...I'm not real fond of dry wines. I prefer the lighter, fruiter ones. She always gives me a hard time about it.

And when your a french in Germany, your always told to have a pretty accent and other nice things. The problem is lots of people talk to you either in french or in english, they dont understand we're here to practise.

Ack, sorry Moiraine! I should have answsered sooner! I work in a department where French is one of the languages/cultures taught. I haven't taken any, myself, since fifth grade, but I get to talk to the visiting students, some from your area as we have a student from Grenoble nearly every year.

And of course, you count, my dear Claude! I have such wonderful feelings for you and your family! I'd listen to your son play piano for hours if I could! That little video you sent was quite nice! And oooooooh the scenery from your neighborhood is spectacular! I just love it! Someday, I think you'll be hauling Nacht out of your wine cellar in person!
Um... yeah... my French is a bit rusty, i admit it. I always had a hard time trying to figure out what's masculin and feminin. So why is beer female anyway ?
