First of all, have a great trip!
The only advice I can offer beyond what has already been proposed is to be careful where you change money, some places have horrible rates. Also, make a photocopy of your passport and keep it someplace apart from the rest of your travel documents. Should you lose your original passport, having the photocopy can expedite a replacement.
