Here, here! The movie itself was the best movie of the year and better than the first in my opinion. The only fault I have with it was that it didn't follow the book closer. Oh well, guess I can't have it all.

Still in first with 11109 votes. Great movie, IMHO. Now if I could only understand why PJ put all those elves at Helm's Deep.

The movie indeed was GREAT,,, no words can describe what I felt when I first saw it...

but indeed there are some MAJOR gaps in the storyline.. like at the end I was like ''wtf? is this it? where's Shelob????''.. but it will probaly be fixed in the extended DVD version... it was the same with the first movie (the fellowship of the ring), like the gifst the fellowship got from Galadriel in Lothlorien.

Shelob appears near the beginning of the next movie.
Yap lots of gaps. No shelob, quite a disapointment. I cannot recall that lothlorien sent aid to helms deep. And the ents DID agree to go to war at once, unlike in the movie they go to war after the entgathering. I looked forward to see the Ents and the Huorns marching to war but nooo. And whats up with Aragorn falling of a cliff? Arwen sets of to Erresėa? What? And what on earth did Frodo and Samwise do in Osgaliath? And Frodo even confronted an Nazgūl?
Though I have to admit tis the best movie Ive seen so far. As long as the battle with Gandalf vs the Balrog and Helms Deep was there I was happy. And dont worry about Shelob for now. She will appear in the next movie as shes quite crucial to the plot. The last film will last about 4 hours and man I cant wait

I know that shelob will appear in the next movie but... in the book she was at the end of the Two Towers not at the Beginning of the Return of the king...

because when it ended with shelob (what it suppose to end with) people will not complain (again!) with the open and a little boring end...

nice add-up there Brennihelvete, you got all the major points that were not correct... when I first saw the movie I was like... hmmmm they gave it a little twist or something? or is this the new copy of Tolkiens version or what? because indeed many things are not right when you have read the books...

part 1 the fellowship was pretty accuret with the storyline (a little flaw sometimes but you can't have it all )

will see will see.... I'm ready looking forward to the next and last part of this great trilogy...

The Elven discussion and debate to lend military aid the forces of Man between Galadriel, Elrond et al is straight out of the Books of Lost Tales. Jackson just decided to have them vote YES instead of NO this time, possibly so they didn't look like they were doing nothing at all.

If you read the little chronology in the appendix of LotR, Frodo reaches Shelob's lair at the same time as Aragorn takes the Paths of the Dead in ROTK. Peter Jackson is getting the timing right. It's the book that's a little slanted.

Aragorn falling off a cliff gives him the opportunity to report the oncoming Uruk-Hai army - and introduces Brego the horse, who'll be Aragorn's steed for the rest of the movies.

Osgiliath was a clever way to stretch out the Faramir encounter, AND to make sure everyone knows that while Saruman is making his move, Sauron is doing exactly the same.

Trust me on this - Arwen's not going to make it to the Undying Lands. She's back in ROTK. Odds are on her bearing to Aragorn a certain sword (just a rumour).

The omission of the Huorns... it WAS a filmed scene. But with the Elves at Helm's Deep, I guess the Rohirrim didn't really need the help. And I reckon Eomer's 2000 cavalry charge was a LOT better, visually, than the original 1,000 infantry charge led by Erkenbrand.

The REAL problem with Two Towers is that no-one remembers the things Jackson got absolutely SPOT ON... except Gollum. Vote for Two Towers!
