So, hell is now "not being with God",and having everything you wanted rather than sitting in an eternal fire with Satan?

Sorry!
I never said hell was sitting in an eternal fire with Satan did I?

I believe people get what they want. If you don't want God, and you don't want eternal life, then that's what you get. If you desire to know and be with God, and you want to live forever with him (as life itself is impossible without God) then that too is what you get.

To be extremely simple about it.

Goodnight mate.

As for what the Bible says that's another conversation. There are four interpretations as to what the Bible speaks of for people that reject Jesus offer of eternal life.

1.Eternal seperation from God.
2.The literal fires of hell.
3.Total cessation of existance. Annihilation.
4.Eternal life in heaven along with those that accepted Jesus, regardless of what they believed.

I am #3 an annihilationist. I believe the Bible is clear on the issue and that logical understanding leads to the conclusion that an eternity without God is ceasing to exist.

There is one Biblical weak link in that interpretation, but the counter interpretations have more weaknesses IN MY OPINION.

Here is a brief piece on it:
http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/8tb/8tb092.html

I'll discuss it further if you like.

I have no argument with a Christian who doesn't take my view on this mind you.

Ok, I bore with you, Yorick!

Now, if you want to keep going along the current lines, please start a NEW thread. THIS one was about snowflakes and is seriously off topic. C'mon guys, let's show some courtesy for Jorath's original intent. I have no problem with some off topic content now and then, (Yorick, you *know* that! LOL) but this thread is now so far off it's start mark, nobody would know what was being discussed on page 3 if they only read page one.

Besides, I think you'd get more interest/feedback/input if people knew what the topic really was. It's a very interesting discussion and I think you've all got some good points that others might be interested in.

Er... no. You've misunderstood. Not life without knowing God, but life itself. If God is the architect of life, and all existence is created by him and perpetuated by his will, then without God, nothing would exist. An eternity without God would be an eternity without existing.

But anyway if you want to discuss it more, make a new thread. As henceforth I'll accede to Raindancers request (boohoohoo...)
