In my new game (an all girl party) I have just returned to Nashkel with the emeralds taken from Prism. It seems to me that there are several ways to finish this quest so I wondered which option gives the most reward. Should I sell them -if so where is the best place, should I give them to Oublek and try to steal them back or is there some better combination. At this point in the game a nice injection of cash is welcome, I used it to buy some decent armour for Jaheira she certainly needs it!

Prism’s Emeralds: You can turn in Prism’s emeralds for a nice bounty. They are worth 300 gp. and 200 Exp. Alternatively, you can drop one on the ground and give the other to Oublek for the reward. Then, either sell the second for 750 gp. or collect the reward from Oublek a second time!
Take a look at these options I pulled this off a walkthrough.

Sell one of them, then give the other to Oublek. Thats probably the best solution.

Thanks for the posts guys,I gave one to Oublek and sold the other.

If I was playing evil I would take him up a dark alley and punch his lights out, and take the remaining emerald(s).

You'd have to be playing evil for this, but one walkthrough suggests the following: Charm Oublek and lead him away from the center of town so that the twonspeople won't witness your villainy. Give him both emeralds at once and kill him. Then you get four emeralds worth 5000 gp plus the 2000 gp he has on him.
