I haven't heard anything about a movie detailing that (I do not believe the author ever wrote anything on the subject beyond what you see in Red Dragon). However, it would be difficult seeing someone else playing Lecter, especially as a younger man (as many of you who saw Manhunter can attest, Brian Cox is a good actor, and did do a decent job as Lecter, but Anthony Hopkins IS Lecter). Maybe one day we'll see it. [img]smile.gif[/img]

The movie ends with a shootout, but if I remember the book right (it has been a good 8 years since I read it), so did the book. I felt the movie was more faithful to the book than Manhunter (which was a more "visual" movie, which is only appropriate coming from the person that brought you Miami Vice).

I'd like to see another movie, but it would be dangerous. As you stated, Lecter would have to be played by Hopkins. It just wouldn't work otherwise.

Now, if he is willing to do it, I think makeup and hairdye, wigs, and general cosmetics can make this believable.

But, the hard part, is the writing. I am not familiar with any of the books, and do not know the author. Is he still alive? Maybe if he wrote it, in his own style, it could be pulled off. Should an IW collective write to him? Could be, er, interesting!
