Anyone know why all ceilings are white? - Page 3

I have to agree with the others, white ceilings makes the room seem cleaner and spacier. And I reckon bedrooms are white just cause to paint any room a certain color (like say if you were selling a house), well everyone has their own taste, and if you chose the wrong color that others didn't like, you may not sell the house as fast, white is "neutral."

One question I have (a bit off topic, but along similar lines), is why my house has ceiling fans in the kitchen, and all the bedrooms, but NOT in the living room. Why NOT?? You'd think that'd be an ideal place for one, since living rooms usually are the rooms you spend a lot of leisure time in. ??

You could switch one to your living room if you wanted. Is there a cover plate there Lady Z?

I say ceilings are mostly many shades of white because of a couple reasons ..
1. It's the color of drywall mud. Most builders will offer only "white" painted surfaces at delivery because it hides shotty workmanship in the drywall process in the finished stage.
2. Imho it's clean looking and responsive to many different incoming colored rays. like it reflects the moods of life.

Conan - Nope no plate for one as far as I can see anyway, just clean and smooth ceiling in the living room. Just wondered why there wasn't one there, never seen a house with so many fans (four in total) yet none in the Living Room! Plus no place to vent the dryer, so I have to use the basement window LOL! Tis OK, makes my car (near said window) smell clean and fresh! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Oh, btw, I like your improvement on your sig horse, looks MUCH nicer without the background! [img]smile.gif[/img]

What if the cellings wear pink and the walls wear white? Would the room be seem bigger then?

Or would the celling seem smaller and the walls seem wider?

All surfaces on some hospitals are white. Now according to some psyc studies, yellow tends to calm you, red impassion you, blue make you cold, white - make you nervous!!! Just what we need jittery patients going under the knife. Or WORSE jitter doctors (with no sleep I might add) HOLDING THE KNIFE!!!!

You need to go out more MagiK, it's not all white outthere.

Not too long ago me and some friends were at someones party in a house where they painted the walls and ceiling red. I can tell you, after a few beers you run outside screaming.
