i was think about elves and how long are they children?
my fist thought was welll it must about the same as humans just drawn out. than i thought about this more. If i remember my add correctly your avg elf lives 1000 to 1200 years. whereas if we consider your avg human in the time period, when you cosider disease and the like proably about 60(i'm being generous because of spells) well lets say you take a 100 yo elf, the comparative human is 6. 200 years, your 12. so 250 puts you right at the brink of child bearing age(about 15) now considering this do elves age at comparable rate to humans. I don't think they could. if it takes you 250 years to reach an acceptable child bearing age, it would be incredibly difficult to produce the next generation. I think it proably takes an elf about 50 years to reach child bearing age possibly a little more or a little less but difenitely well under 100 years.

According to the Book of Elves, Elves are children for 50-70 years (subgroup dependent). This leads into adolescence, which ends when the elf is 80-120 years old (subgroup dependent again). They don't reach full height until adolescence, so I'm thinking that they don't reach physical maturity (where procreation becomes possible) until after adolescense. That's all the info I can find at the moment... Hope this eases your mind a little.

I don't really think that the Elves have schools. It's more of a community based teaching, where everyone helps the young ones learn various skills and such. Often times, they're learning many crafts during their adolescense, so they're often well-rounded. And I wouldn't say that they're defenseless. I believe that they learn swordsmanship in their early years, but I'd have to check. I don't feel like opening the book back up this late at night.
I understand your curiosity. I was the same way, that's why I got the book. |

still a 6 yo wielding a sword(i'm assuming no armor) isn't going to scare a knight very much even as they begin adolosence a 12 yo wielding a sword will proably not have alot of power behind it, especially when you consider elves are generally not as strong anyway. the little guy would have a tough time cutting through plate mail

I think The elves arent like the humans,'cause else they were humans.
you must think about it, if 10 elven years was like 1 human year, and a human lives 100 years, the elven lives around 1000 years.... Then the humans could get children with 13 years more or less, then the Elven would get it about 130 years, and the women have could get in pregnant about one month (I know it's about 28 days), the elven women could about ten....
