Strangely enough, George Carlin pre-empted this by several years. I've got recordings of his shows where he just completely attacks airport security, airport lingo etc.

The ridiculousness of airport security..
here's a story for ya-
I was flying back to Melbourne after my 2 week vacation in Singapore and I'm walking into the gate when this security guard stops me and requires to check my hand-carry bag. He rummages around my stuff, pulls out my shaving kit, opens it up, looks at all the nice shiny implements, then takes away my scissors and my mini army knife thats about an inch long! On asking him why, he said that anything small, sharp and metallic issint allowed on board the flight!
Needless to say I was pretty pissed off. Its not like I'm going to poke someone's eye out with a scissors or slit a pilot's throat with my inch-long army knife blade thats really dull anyway! They just reached into my kit, took away anything remotely sharp, regardless of whether they're hygene instruments of not, and just took them away! They'd probably have taken my razor as well if I'd placed my disposable ones in there. What are people flying long flights to do? Its not like they give you decent razors on the plane anyway so you're supposed to bring your own! If I really wanted to kill someone, I'd take a toothbrush, rip off the end, sharpen it and stick it in a flight attendant. I wouldnt try to bloody shave him to death..

But wasn't it razors that the terrorists used for the Sep11 attacks?

I'm a big fan of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." strategy. The M1919 most certainly is NOT broke, it's a fine weapon, far superior to the M-60, less likely to jam, more accurate, etc. The Colt 1911 is a .45. Anyone who has fired a .45 knows just how much of a powerhouse it is. It's much more power than a 9MM, at the expense of capacity, but it was still an excellent weapon, and there was a huge outcry against its replacement by the Beretta M-92. Plus, if they tried to kill me in this theoretical scenario, you do realize the kind of firepower they'd face?
