Clear enough for me johnny, say whatever you want! Dont let the thought police get ya! And I have to agree-SHIT HAPPENS. It may be good shit, it may be bad shit (as in this case) but its going to happen in a war zone.

This is from MS-NBC

At Bagram, Colonel Roger King said a U.S. ground patrol had called in air support after feeling threatened by automatic weapons fire.
The planes, he said, then met sustained and hostile fire from several locations around the village, including anti-aircraft fire, that was not consistent with a wedding party.

MS-NBC also reported that a B-52 dropped 7 bombs on a pre planned target, one of which fell off target but ground spotters reported it fell on an uninhabited hillside. “The pre-planned target was out of the village, on a ridgeline in another location,”

PSH!!!!
Neither is it cool to go and attack some terrorists in Afghanistan, but bomb a wedding instead.

i see your point of view, however, we DIDNT start this. liberals are so quick to put down America, especially those who dont even live here. it would be a completely different story if the attack came to YOUR land. im about 110% positive that if it happened in Europe, or Australia, or Asia, or New Zealand, that people would as the US for help. those people KNEW American planes were flying in the air. there is no way NOT to hear them, they are LOUD!! they shot guns into the air. our pilots are hundreds of feet in the air. all they saw was a group of people, shooting at them. they did what ANYONE would have done to protect himself. nobody sees it that way though. the liberals of the world have a field day with this stuff. more "ammunition" for their anti-military campaigns. these people killed THOUSANDS of innocent lives for NO reason, other than hate. we are killing MILITARY targets out of SELF DEFENSE, and retaliation. like i said, yes, its sad when innocent people had to die, but those people COULD have actually been firing at the planes, for all the pilots knew. im not a monster, i have feelings, and that is why i hate the taliban and al-quida, because they DONT have feelings, and they ARE monsters. kill them all, and let the powers that be sort them out. (not the civilians) all im saying is, when you are in the air, being fired upon, you dont have time to turn around, land your plane, give a location, get an intelligence briefing, refuel, reload, take off, and then proceed to bomb them. it was a target of opportunity, and unfortuneately, it was a bad target. people need to stop looking at all of the "negatives" that America sometimes does, and focus on all of the POSITIVES. all we are doing is trying to keep the world a safer place. you would understand if you were in the military. there is alot more that goes on than you could POSSIBLY imagine. lets put you into the middle of enemy controlled area, and have them shoot at you, and lets see how you would react. i use that as an example, just to illistrate(sp) my point. i wish that there WOULD be peace, and that everyone COULD get along. unfortuneately, places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran wont allow that to happen. America has been the target of terrorism forever, and we are NOT going to sit idley by while someone tries to do away with us, and our way of life. thanx for listening to my rhetoric.
Since when has small arms fire taken down a plane in Afghanistan? Since when did American planes even fly anywhere near the range of small arms fire? When the first attacks were carried out on Afghanistan, the Americans were the ones with the much vaunted high-tech aircraft which could fly miles above the clouds and not be detected. Since when did they suddenly come into the range of hand guns? And if pilots are as trigger-happy as you say...they don`t deserve to have the kind of power over life and death that they do.

Ok everyone, let's stick to the subject of the thread and avoid personal baiting or insulting comments directed at another poster.

Send the spec. ops. in first, to look them in the "whites of thier eyes". If they have a fight, thats what my tax dollars are paying them to do. If they would have done that at Tora Bora they might have captured more than a few conscripts that will tell them what ever they want if it means a ride home.

I wont even go into "the war on terror will create more terrorists 5,10,20 years from now, and dropping bombs on weddings doesnt help..."
-ooops I just did
Beleive me the Pilots that drop bombs know the destruction that their bombs do, the death it causes. The object of war is to kill your enemy, not the blow up things, that's a perk. Looking into the whites of their eyes didn't do much to stop the Romans, Huns, Aztecs, or any other people that waged war before the invention of airplanes & Bombs.

I will, but I think when 1/2 the world is happy would be a better time to celebrate because then the happiness will be infectious and the other 1/2 will be happy as well!

First I can happy. I can make my friends happy. Then they make the world happy.
