In ToB, Jan and Korgan have a conversation about a Dwarven vixen with a beautiful full luscious beard.

I just had to add that in. Please don't shun me.

In R. A. Salvatore's books, the dwarven battlerager (cannot remember the vulgar little SOB's name) is constantly telling Catti-Brie to grow a beard so she can be a beautiful woman. So I guess shaving amongst the dwarven women of Faerun, at least in the western half, is out.

My question is, do they have hairy chests, as well?

I think Terry Pratchett had it right. Female dwarves have beards and even the male dwarves have trouble identifying females. It might explain why they are so clannish. If you know who everyone is then you know if they are the same sex. Go to the big city and no telling who you are with.
DIVERGENT THOUGHT
Why are all hairy females in sci-fi sexy but in fantasy they are "ugly dwarves"?

Thibledorf Pwent was the dwarf's name.

as far as I know they do not have chest hair. any more than human women would.

Oh yah in the forgotten reals books "The Moonshae Trilogy" or mabey it was Moonwell??? any way there was a dwarf that they rescued from the Firblogs lair and they thought she was a male due to the beard although the voice was that of a females. I guess on the Isles the female Dwarves do have beards.

Do you mean the paperdolls? 'Cause I've seen most of the portraits, and the 'stubble factor' is pretty low there.....and man, that Female Elven Warrior with the gold armor is one hot babe.

Duergar looking good (did that dwarf used to be ginger?!)
The Duergar is made up of 2 near-identical Dwarf portraits--one angry-looking one with a full, yellow beard, and his more mellow twin with a red goatee. I changed the colors on the angry one and, since the character is supposed to be very old and tired of the world, I gave him the mellow Dwarf's eyebrows and nose. His skin tone seems to vary from monitor to monitor--I wanted his skin to be noticably grey, but not so dark that he would look like a bearded Drow.

I know what I'll do--I'll give the Female Dwarf some shaggy stubble in lieu of a full beard, and then lower her CHA because she's not sexy. Maybe make her jealous of the prettier females (of any race) in the party.....

Another question: Do Female Half-Orcs have hairy chests? I'd be fun if they did, especially since I finally found a good burly picture for Edna, and gave her her original stats back ( 19/16/17/11/14/9 ).

if i remember correctly(and i may not it's been awhile)
orcs can be very varied in thier general appereance. Ranging from nearly hairless to very hairy, in skin tone from lighter colors to dark, shades of greens and yellows along with more human colors,
Orcs are one of the more consistent dwellers of faruen(living in nearly every climate humans do) so this makes sense.
so a half orc would most likely look like thier orcish parent, although somewhat less so
