How about this:

You're sitting high in the stands, there's five minutes to go. The game is tied 1-1, and the other team has been camped in your half for the last ten minutes, with several close calls. A few shots have hit the post. The crowd is roaring, a blanket of sound over the packed stadium - the noise rising to fever pitch whenever the keeper makes a save. Suddenly out of the blue the other team loses the ball!! The ball is quickly passed upfield where your striker scores on a brilliant counterattack to put your team 2-1 up with a minute to go to the deafening cheers of the crowd. Now if they can only hold on for another minute...

That is also atmosphere. [img]smile.gif[/img]
