Probably one of the least elegant methods of taking Thax'ssilya out:

Three half-orc barbarians/berserkers with maxed fighting stats.

As was remarked in the solaufein mod: what DnD world is it where the epitome if disaster is...a demilich?
Dungeons and demiliches! doesn't have the same ring to it. I dl'd the sola mod for the improved dragons and the improved Abazigal mod for the same reason.

About Quivering Palm, or indeed any attack where you know the odds of it succeeding are fairly low: The epitome of cheese is the moment you realize, "Hey, there's only a 1 in 20 chance that this is going to work, so I'll just keep Reloading until it does, and then Save."

The simplest (and fastest) Dragon fight I ever undertook was the Green Dragon in the bottom of Watcher's Keep. I could tell it was going to be a pushover; the poor thing didn't even have a name, for Pete's sake. So I simply told my party, "Ah, let's just run at it and shoot it to death." I selected all my guys, and told them to Attack. No spells, no summons, no nothin. A couple of rounds later, Mazzy and Keldorn were Badly Injured and searching the dragon's corpse for souveneirs. Green Dragons--apparently, they're not ripe yet.

All of the dragons in Watcher's Keep are pushovers! I killed them with nothing but a SotM, Stoneskin, and Minor! Globe of Invulnerability!!

The green dragon in Hell doesn't have a name either.

Cheesiest way to kill dragons: Energy Blades. *Twip, Twip, Thwip,*

Quivering palm is only cheesy when you save and reload. I fought Firkraag with a monk right after getting quivering palm and thought it would be a good attack against dragons. I didn't expect it to kill him. It was a shock to me, a pleasant one. In real life things sometimes work out the best way possible. The same thing should be possible in a game.

If you have a druid, Insect Plague works wonders against dragons and mages.
If not, scare them or dumb them down

The easiest way to kill dragons is to have a cleric cast magic resistance (NOT lower resistance!) And then have a mage cast finger 'o' death

Idid on the shadow dragon and Fikraag. Worked first time for both of them
