Awesome stuff Cerek.

I'm glad Vermont and Connecticut each elected independents as Senators too.

While CP certainly knows more about politics than I do (and follows them much more closely than I ever will), I see either Hillary or Obama (Senator from Ohio, IIRC)
1. Nod to the "opposing factions" notion.

2. Obama is from Illinois, Chicago in fact, and I have just recently learned that he has mob ties. Of course, every politician from Illinois is fundamentally corrupt. Our former governer is going to jail, our current governor will probably be prosecuted when his term ends (though we just did re-elect him). I never in all my years have seen a place so corrupt. My wife's a prosecutor -- I get pulled over, I tell the cop, he lets me go. It's the system here. Mostly socialist and 100% corrupt as all hell.

So, we'll see how Mr. African-American Poster-Boy Obama does, but I'm here to tell you, he's diiiiirty.

Vermont's "independent" was a long-time republican that broke ties with the red party when they got control of congress. I think he realized that any earthy crunchy Vermonter has to be a little bit too hippie to be Republican. But, it's not like he originally was elected as an independent.

With Lieberman in CT, he only went "rogue independent" after he lost to another
democrat in the primaries -- he too is a long-time incumbent. And he still promises to break bread with the Democratic caucus. I like him, though, and I like it that he lost in the primaries and came back to win.
