Erm, what's a Milo?

Hmmmm...Good Article on MSNBC. It's actually got an interesting map that details some possible missions of US troops.

Hmmmm...one *IS* forced to wonder though...are Saddam and his generals sitting around on said websites and getting intel on our troop movements? I mean, during the first Gulf War, all they had to do was turn on CNN and they would have LIVE broadcasts of troop movements.

*Iraqi General* "So what has the intelligence dept. discovered"
*Iraqi Spook* "We've located Allied forces Sir!"
*Iraqi General* "EXCELLENT, WE'VE GOT THEM NOW!, WHERE ARE THEY"
*Iraqi Spook* "They're in the Desert Sir!"
*Iraqi General* "In the Desert?"
*Iraqi Spook* "YES SIR, Definitely in the Desert"
*gunfire*
*Iraqi Spook* "OOOOUUUUCCCCCHHHHhhhh...."
*Iraqi General* "Stupid Intelligence Dept."

Yeah, they knew troops were moving, but they didn't know where they were moving from or to. Remember all those reporters saying "We're broadcasting from an undisclosed location."

Plus all the focus on an amphibious landing in Kuwait that was little more than a few Navy Seals being used as a major distraction.

Anyway, by this time tomorrow, most of his electronics will be out of order, and I'm sure his cable will be out....lol.

Looks like DEBKA dropped the ball on this one. Eggs on me I guess. I should have checked it out before I posted it here. Sorry!

BTW, I work with my caplocks on and when I started this topic they were still on. I didn't notice that until I had sent the original post. Sorry if that bothered anyone!

Debka turned out to be wrong about Tareq Aziz having defected as well, as according to Donut, this evening Aziz appeared at a press conference in Bagdad... So I think it's indeed a questionable newssite.

Sometimes it is totally accurate and sometimes not. They really blew it this time. I do know that a lot of the Big time news services watch this site constantly, but they do go back and verify what is reported prior to reporting it themselves.

Just to echo Cloudy's comments - I won't quote all the tit-for-tat stuff I've seen here, but let's realise that we're all going to be a bit touchy and defensive during this time. That's reality. Likewise, I would hope that being mature men and women, boys and girls, we would take everything we read here with a bit of a grain of salt - just remember that EVERYONE is feeling picked-on or victimized, not just yourself. The world will not end because someone made a comment that you didn't like. If it's REALLY bad, report it and we'll check it out, but let's try to all cut each other some slack and try not to flare our tempers up at every little nuance of what everyone is saying.

Also, as these issues start to crop up more and more, we as moderators will be spending less and less time trying to mediate disputes - it won't be worth our while trying to mediate between people who all believe their opinion is right. We will simply start locking threads that are heading towards flamewars and like in a soccer, hockey or basketball game, whoever started the fight (as well as anyone who retaliates or joins in the flaming) will spend time on the sideline to cool off. This is only fair I think. It's up to all of you to make sure that doesn't happen - we all need to work together to ensure a good, hard, but CLEAN, game.
