Just two quick points. Firstly I'm sure there are a few hermits living in caves in the Himalayas who haven't seen this before.

Secondly, since when did you take any interest in what Canadians think.

Oh, I have a pretty large interest in what Canadians think. My uncle lives just across the border in Washington and I met a girl from Vancouver So yeah, I hear what Canadians think a lot and find it very interesting.

Good article, but it seems to be a bit critical of the fact that noone helps America, forgetting that America is THE biggest and richest country and is capable of taking care of itself.

It was writen in the 70's but it still applies to most situations (natural disasters). The attack of Sept 11, 2001 the most of the world did aid or offer some assistance for that we thank them!

Please don't get me wrong. The speech used to bring a tear to my eye in those days. It was released on a 45 record (anyone remember those? )and sold lots of copies. I downloaded a copy of it right after the attack on September 11. The written speech is nothing compared to the author speaking those words, himself! I know much of it is still timely, but I just wanted to point out that there is history connected to it.

This part: "When the Pennsylvania Railroad
and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose!" is particularly bothersome. I say this because our government leaps at the chance to prop up the Airline Industry when they are going bankrupt, but has never really tried to save the trains. I know there is more beneath the surface of this issue, but it IS sad that our railway system is not as strong as it once was.

For example, the claim that America helps other countries all the time and is never helped in return.
Bah, ungratefull pests.

Hell, the US owes its VERY EXISTENCE as a country to foreign aid. The US would never even have succeeded in becoming an independent country except for massive aid from France in the Revolutionary war.

Sorry, but the desire to pat oneself on the back is no excuse for historical falsehood.
WHAT!? FRENCH!?
Need i remind all you ungratefull Americans that WE were the bigest financer of your independance war! That even got us into another seawar with the English.
