Seems to me the song is about a soldier not a suicide bomber. The line about a gun in one hand and heart in the other...

Does it refer specifically to suicide bombing somewhere and I missed it?

Chewbacca, First of all it says weapon, not gun, which could be just about anything from a bomb/molotov coctail, to a knife, to a gun, second without the full text of it all you know is that he's praising the glory of "martyr's" which is what suicide bombers are normally considered (I guess they really don't know that suicide is against the Quran).

(btw I do recognise that my previous post about them being on expired visa's was incorrect, they had an extension until July 15th)

Oh my god!!! Check this song out! It involves men going out to kill and die! And wives mourning them! And children being brought up to idolise such behaviour! Those bastards! They'll do anything they can to glorify their murderous ways!!!! ARRRRRRRGH!

Come on guys.... seriously... please. This bipolar, obsessive-compulsive enemy-inventing is getting tired.

Bipolar obsessive compulsive enemy inventing? The insults are just bubbling up out of the posts these days.

Here's all I know about the song: it sings about martyrs using weapons of some sort to valiant fight to free Palestine, the Golan, and South Lebanon and ends with Allahu Akbar chants. You'll forgive me if I've drawn certain connections and assumptions out of this. It's certainly not obsessive nor compulsive to do so.

Ok, I'm sorry. I was frustrated and hastily blurted out some stuff that I shouldn't have.

Still, I stand by overall point that some Americans choose to sing songs glorifying
those whom they see as their martyred warriors too. That doesn't necessarily make them bad people.

MOST Americans don't consider running onto a bus full of children and blowing yourself up martyrdom.

Well... I just don't know enough to conclude this song was or wasn't about suicide bomber. I have been unable to find a second translation from a source other than the Middle East Media Research Institute.
Heck I can't even find the 'Syrian Wayne Newton' guy's website. Seems like every hit on google about this is a rehash of the original Blog or Times Article.

I'm skeptikal and think this angle of the story is a bit of hot air- lean on facts but full of rhetoric. Just my opinion.

You can listen to two of Mehannas's songs here, if anyone is interrested. It's further down the page.

Good for them I suppose it's more 'humane' for these moral, upstanding citizens of freedom to stick their bombs onto rockets and detonate them from a safe distance huh?
