Thieves at the docks problem(spoiler)

I think I screwed up.
At the docks I was given the quest to talk to mae'vin dude.
But I killed some thieves, does that mean that they all hate me now and I can't do the quest for them anymore.

As for the thieves that you killed, where did you kill them?

When I entered the docks yoshimo said that some guy at the theives guild would want to see him, so I went there and talked to the thief. The thief gave me the quest to go spy on mae'vin or whatever his name is.
While I was there I tried to pick pockets and got caught, then everyone attacked me so I had to kill everybody.
I went on to the other guild to see mae'vin and as soon as I walked in the door I my whole party was murdered almost instantly.
So I came here.lol

another question, my bards pick pocket ability is 95.
I thought that meant 95%, does it mean that?
Maybe you can tell me, how high should it be before I attempt to pick pocket the thieves?

Hmmmm? I am surprised you did not meet Arkanis Gath, but I guess you tried pickpocketing on the first floor. However, the implications of this is more severe than just not being able to complete the Mae'Var quest.

Unless you have already sided with the opposition guild, you have effectively ended your game because you need their help in crossing over to Chapter 4.

As for pickpocketing (pp), the safe level is usually 200%. Merchants incur penalties to your pp skill, so it is usually lesser than what you see on your character screen. Drink potions to boost your pp skill if it is too low.

Have you tried talking to Gaelen Bayle?
Have you tried talking to Renal Bloodscalp?
Have you paid your 15,000 gold pieces yet?
Where did you try pickpocketing? On the first floor?

Yea, renal bloodscalp, he's the guy that wanted to talk to yoshimo, and gave me the vae'var quest.(I think)
I was on the second floor, it was the chick in the other room I tried to pick pocket.
That is interesting that one mistake can ruin the game.
I hope I can go back.
I stupidly deleted saves I thought I wouldn't need.
I have never played any computer games except diablo and playstation.

No way, I've got like 5,000 maybe.

I think I talked with gaelyn bayle.
I don't talk to everybody I see, I suppose that I should.

So which guild am I supposed to side with? Mae'var or gaelyn

I never take and read books I find either, should I?

Amazing, you had the Shadow Thieves go hostile on you and Arkanis Gath the Cheesy did not turn up?

Anyway, you have a few options to choose from right now.

1) Gather 15,000 gold and pray the opposition guild turns up.

2) Restart the game, since you are still very, very early in the game.

If you make them hostile in Mae'Vars guildhall, he will spawn on the floor that has Gorch.

If you refuse Edwin's order to kill the Cowled Wizard, the guildhall goes hostile against you, and after you kill them all, Renal will not be happy and you receive no reward.

However, CW made them hostile on the same floor as Renal, so I am guessing Arkanis Gath tripped and fell down the stairs. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
