British Divers stuck in cave turn down help???

I don't know the specifics of this, but if they do not trust in the help from the locals as this report mentions, and they drown...well...am I supposed to mourn their loss or their stubborness?

Oh come on now. Its obvious that these British 'scientists' have been working on excavating ancient alien technology from the Ocean floor. They refuse Mexican aid because they can't allow people without high-level clearance to see what they've been working on

They are British armed forces personnel and they are not in any immediate danger.

There could be a whole host of reasons why they are turning down aid from the locals. They are all described as expert cavers by the MOD and may feel that the equipment of the rescue team is inadequate. Maybe they feel that it would be embarrassing to the UK armed forces to be rescued by Mexican soldiers. Maybe they are carrying equipment which is 'secret' or maybe one of them is in a branch of the forces which is publicity shy (ie SAS).

If they die as a result of turning down help - then so be it. No fault could be assigned to Mexico under those circumstances.

But they had BETTER have a good reason that nullifies the message that they're refusal of help is sending out; that the Mexican rescuers are somehow incompetent/untrustworthy. That is something that they will need to address when they finally get out.

They will never been seen once they escape. They will emrge under the cover of 0200hr twilight when most 'normal' folks are asleep. Their secret euipment will vanish also.
What is puzzeling though is the fact they even acknowledged they were there.
