Ive had this yagos book of curses for ages i ve never found out what you do with it. What do you need it for?

Is that the one that you pick up in Baldur's itself? If I remember correctly, there's a subquest with two mages - one of which has the book and the other requires it. Is that how you discovered it?

Go to the north-east area of BG city, and a woman will give you the subquest related to that book. That area is divided in 2 zones by a big wall, you have to enter the western one, to do that, go there from the area where the duchal palace is (just like if you were going to the splurging sturgeon).
