Just a link actually to a site. Anyone who has read Lies and the lying liars who tell them, might find this site to be interesting for a counterpoint.

I have no editorial comment sot make, other than I found Franken to be rather obnoxious and rude to anyone who asks pointed questions of him about some of the facts (as heard on a radio interview he did with Sean Hannity).

Sorry, but I like Franken. And, most of those are nit-picks and diversions -- some even don't refute the truth of what was said by Franken. I'd break them down, but I'm really not in the mood nor do I have the time now. Franken is funny, he's direct, he brings a lot of facts and knowledge to the table, and he's willing to take on hard-line conservatives. My kinda guy.

But, I haven't read his book. I'm waiting another few weeks to catch it on the bargain bin.

Franken's book is very funny, I read most of it in a book store while waiting around and got several glances from others around at the generous amounts of laughter I was producing. Good stuff.

Where exactly does Franken say his 14 researchers are from Harvard? The quote from Franken on that webpage says '...with 14 researchers.. ' It says nothing about Harvard.

I haven't read Franken's book nor intend to do so, but I don't think it's even physically possible that Franken is more obnoxious and self-indulgent than the writer on the above site.

You ought to reread them TL,, they do actually refute him or show him to have lied himself. Not saying Franken didn't have some things right..though I wouldn't know which ones...but I do question his intelectual honesty.

if you dont know what facts or conclusions are correct, you arent informed enough to have a valid opinion about his honesty.

note: i have read neither the book nor the rebuttal. i just dislike poor discussion skills.

No, MagiK, some, SOME, a good SOME, of the "Frankenlies" are NOT really identified lies. As I said, I don't have the time -- but you can do it for yourself. Notably on the O'Riely thing the guy sorta fizzled into "who cares" land for me. I checked about half of them, and noted about half of those did not really make me say "Ahah! A lie!"

Just because he may not know ALL the facts doesn't mean he "isn't informed enough to have a valid opinion".

Every member on this forum expresses their opinions in every post they make...and many often have no more knowledge of the facts regarding a particular issue than MagiK does here...but nobody tells them they don't know enough to have a valid opinion.

If you truly dislike poor discussion skills, then take an honost and objective look and some of your own responses too. Attacking the person rather than challening the subject material is not only poor form, it is also a violation of the TOS.

First, I agree generally with Cerek. However, if one more person here hits the report post button I'm gonna scream. Can't we resolve things as adults and give the mods a break? -- if nothing else for the reason to preserve the forum?
