As for counting on one hand the number of men who've cheated on their spouses:

The Smart*** response: Then you must not know more than five men

The Optimistic response: Then you must be living around some amazing people

The Realistic response: 70%+ Cheat, not get caught. I am around many men daily who cheat on their girlfriends and wives in varying degrees. The wives, girlfriends, all think their spouse is the only loyal man in the world...oddly enough, so do many of the mens 'mistresses'.

The Pessimistic response: Every guy I know, save 2, cheats on their significant other. Ironically enough, the wife and girlfriend of the 2 'loyal' men are the ones cheating. Believe me...it's a sad world out there.

[/QUOTE]I think Bill Clinton was one of the greatest peacetime presidents in our history. Bush (I'm cringing as I say this) is probably one of the best War time presidents we've ever had. Of course, the thing that really bugs me, is figuring out if the situations fit the two men, or if the men made the situations.

Bush may be a hardheaded imbecil, but he's determined..and in this war hard-headed determination is what's going to make us win. I just wish he wasn't such a puppet. A president is supposed to be a leader, not a figurehead.

Dude you need to get a new set of friends! [img]smile.gif[/img] While I'm sure there is a certain amount of hanky panky going on a round me. I am quite secure in the fact that it is no where near 70%. That includes all the guys and gals I work with, play ball with, go to church with, and generally hang around with, most of which have been married for quite sometime with kids.

CNN had special last night about marriages that survive affairs. Their quoted figure was 50% of marriages have suffered affairs. It's my experience that even that percentage is high where I live.

Anyway, I doubt you'll find statistics over non-proven adultery. However 70% seems very high to me too. But I expect the number to be well above what I believe. If you have expereinced adultery one would probably believe the percentage to be high, and vice versa. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Meaning, pretty much, that in all marriages currently in existence 50% have or had cheating. When you factor in failed marrages, you come up with my 70%+ figure. As I said before..it's a sad, sad world out there.

As for my friends...well, you know how it goes...you don't choose your friends your friends choose you. As much as I can't stand what some of them do to women, I also now understand how a woman can stay with a man who cheats on her. They are such good guys 'at heart' and fun to hang out with, that I have trouble judging them on there indiscretions. Plus, it's not like I've never cheated on a girlfriend before...I just pray to God I've got what it takes to never cheat on my wife if/when I ever get married.

Trying to find the source...but I should clarify. It's 70% of ALL marrages...both failed on successful ones. Look at it this way...if 50% of marrages end in divorce, and we assume that almost all of those divroces had cheating involved...and 50% of existing marrages 'survive' cheating...then one can logically see where 70% doesn't seem so high any more.

The statistic was not derived this way, just a logical way to look at it. Of course, one could also argue the fact that the guys who've had 5 wives and have cheated on all of them scuwed the statistic...but I think they factored all of that into it. I'm pretty sure the exact statistic was something to the effect of 70% of all men who have been married have cheated at least once while married.

Factoring in girlfriends and significant others might bring the average of "Realationship" cheaters up to a very high %. Only problem I see with adding that factor in is: There is A UNIVERSE of differance between a girlfriend and a WIFE.
