Thats a very depressing thought. I'll be quite happy to see the guy remaining pigeon-holed for as long as possible.

Not really; FDR was wholeheartedly and decidedly a Democrat by party affiliation. If you ignore that, though, then yes--some of his programs were more "Democrat" in nature, like WPA, CCC, Social Security, etc. and some were more "Republican" such as the massive defense spending increases and the influx of money he and the Federal Reserve System helped put into the hands of big business. FDR was more of a Realist, someone who got problems solved by (almost) any means necessary.
Not rich liberals as well eh? Bah, not a time to be nitpickin anyhow.

I mean, FDR was on the dime for a good reason, his involvement with the march of dimes, there no reason to punish his memory because of a stupid docudrama, i'm sure reagan will get honored some other way but the dime is fine as is.

nah. us rich liberals only keep smaller bills in our pockets, what's left after we give to charities and worthy causes, so we can hand them out to the needy as we pass them on the street.

*shh* Azred looks around, checking to see if anyone might be listening too closely. There aren't supposed to be any rich liberals, like sultan says.

FDR was the consumate democrat. He was public spending personified. He was the beginning of the world's love affair with using only half of the Keynesian economic model, and thereby breaking it altogether. Every major public spending money sinkhole we have today was initiated in FDR's administration. The federal agencies trebled or quadrupled in number under his watchful eye.

The Supreme Court kept knocking down his crazed spending measures. He threatened to pack it, and one justice flipped sides on a few major cases, becoming the "switch in time that saved 9." He is why term limits were introduced.

Erm, I mean he was a great man to be sure, but he was certainly a democrat.
