Don't know if it's a reliable source, but i saw this on the news as well yesterday.

‘North Korea has 100 nuclear missiles aimed at US’

SYDNEY: North Korea has at least 100 nuclear missiles aimed at the United States and will use them if new economic sanctions are imposed against it, a propagandist for the Stalinist state claimed Sunday.

Kim Myong Chol, who styles himself executive director of the Centre for Korea-American Peace, told Australia’s Channel Nine network: “It’s quite obvious North Korea may have minimum 100 nuclear warheads, maximum 300.”

“They all lock onto American cities.” Kim, who rejoices in the title “unofficial spokesman for North Korea”, was speaking in an interview recorded overseas, although it was unclear where.

He claimed the nuclear technology used to produce the missiles had been tested in Pakistan and the weapons had been made before Pyongyang’s non-proliferation agreement with the administration of former US president Bill Clinton in 1994.

They did not therefore breach international agreements, he maintained. Told that Pakistan had denied the claim it was implicated — which he has made previously — he said: “Of course they must deny that.”.”

Kim was asked if North Korea intended to use the weapons if the United States did not give in to its diplomatic and economic demands.

“If the US attacks North Korea, North Korea will definitely use those nuclear weapons against the US mainland,” he replied.

Would it also use them if an economic embargo was imposed? “Yes, definitely,” he said. —AFP

They are actually making threats now. I wonder where this will end.

Uh, last I heard NK has missles in the development stage that may be able to reach Alaska or the west coast. And if they have nukes, they have only a few.

Gotta hand it to them North Koreans, they are just as good propagandanist as Saddam, but pose a much bigger threat to world security, IMO.

Question Mark

Kim Jong Il must be the worst poker player in the world. What a pathetic attempt at a bluff! I'm surprised we didn't laugh in his face when he made the "threat".

It's always fun to watch little people posture in an attempt to be big. Azred pats the North Korean leader on his head.

The North Korean spokesman mentioned specifically cities like Washington and New York, last time i checked those cities were neither on the west coast, or in Alaska.

It's funny though. They send an army to Iraq, to take out their arsenal of WoMD, which they denied to have, and here are the North Koreans, shouting: Helloooo, we DO have nukes, and we have them aimed at your cities. And noone seems to care. How can you be so sure it's bluff ?

I wouldn't put too much trust in his words. He's just an attentionseeking pompous fraud.

"Jana Wendt: Mr Kim, you are described as the unofficial spokesman for the North Korean Government. Do you accept that title? Is that what you are?

Kim Myong Chol: That's the title granted by 'New York Times', 'Washington Post', BBC, and other Western media. If they give me that kind of title, I'm delighted, I'm flattered.

Jana Wendt: So when I speak to you, I'm hearing the voice of the North Korean Government?

Kim Myong Chol: It's up to you.

Jana Wendt: Well, I'm asking you. When you deliver the message that you're delivering here today, is that the message that the North Korean Government wants to get out?

Kim Myong Chol: Yes.

Jana Wendt: Does that make you a propagandist for a dictator, Kim Jong-Il?

Kim Myong Chol: No, the news magazines call me a spin doctor for North Korea and Kim Jong. It's an honourable title for me.

Jana Wendt: It's an honourable title for you?

Kim Myong Chol: Yeah.

Jana Wendt: All right, Kim Myong Chol, I thank you very much for your time."

North Korea couldn't find it's rear end with both hands and a mirror, much less build 100 ICBMs with a 7000 mile range.

I keep hearing that over and over again, yet they DO have nucleair capability and often enough they're testing missiles and fire them deliberately over Japanese soil or close to their coastline. For someone who can't find his own ass they have a pretty big mouth.

They have a pretty darned good army too. They are well trained and have the best of everything in their country. They are also very brain washed. Their one glaring weakness is that they are armed with largely obsolete soviet vintage weapons (besides any nukes they may or may not have).

Still, if they chose to attack SK they could kill a lot of people and create immease havoc in a short amount of time.

Personally, I think that one of the reasons we haven't taken them out, is because Seoul is SO close to the DMZ and it would be completely destroyed. I read somewhere that NK has 10,000 artillery pieces and missiles pointed right at Seoul in the event of an allied attack. That means a lot of civilian deaths. Not something we are willing to do and the NKs know this.
