I think McAfee is actually a better virus scanner, its better than Nortons. Also you get free DAT file updates.

I, myself think Norton is a better program, but that's just my opinion. No disrespect aimed at you Scholarcs, though.

They`re both good in they`re own ways... McAffee is better at detecting things already on your computer; whereas I find Nortons autoprotect to be better than McAffee at detecting nasties as you download them.
It`s probably safest to have both running at once- double protection.

I cant say which is better but among others I use Norton 2002. When you buy the latest version you get a year or so worth of updates, at least until and more than likely after Norton 2003 comes out.

Among others, you can get TDS-3 wich scans for Trojan Horse Viruii and Worms. Wormguard is just that, with full tyime protection but its a processor hog. I have 1.4 ghz and it dropped my performance by a full 20%. I recommend you install it use it and uninstall it.

Personally I prefer PC Cillin for Antivirus.

The best thing is to HAVE SOMETHING!

If you don´t want to buy a new, check for Titanium AV at Download.com or something else. There are some good free AV programs out there.
