How long is considered a year in D&D? We're can I find scripts of games to study? I'm trying to be a DM but I am hindered by my diability of being a goofy tart.

You can buy senarios pre written to use and read for guidance at any hobby store.
Otherwise you can find a group and play for awhile to learn the ropes.

A year in D&D is whatever the DM decides it to be. Try buying and reading through the low level modules put out by WotC.

Our PnP group usually defined 1 year of game time to be equal to 1 month real time, but it is up to the individual DM. If you have a campaign where it takes 6-8 months of steady playing to go up 1 level, then your DnD time won't be much different than real time.

On the other hand, if the PC's gain a level on each adventure, game time will go much faster.

A year could go by in one adventure, or over the course of many many adventurers. It all depends on the DM (and it also makes a difference what race you're playing, in my opinion...a PC elf won't be in the same time continuum as a PC human, for obvious reasons, unless the two are travelling together or something.)
