I'm sitting here, typing this with one hand, my other wrapped in non-stick bandages, burnt and bleeding...

The evening started off alright - I did what I had to do around the house, read a book, did the things I normally do when I have time to spare. I then ate dinner with my parents, and had to clean up afterwards. This is where it started - I began cleaning around the gas rings on the cooker, but I hadn't noticed that a ring was still on, the flame was almost transparent, and it was very hard to see. So as soon as I went near it, it seared my hand. It really hurt at first, skin melted and there was quite a lot of blood, but it's calmed down a little now. It still throbs and I dread to think what my hand looks like under this bandage.

So kids, never try this at home, it could be dangerous....

that must've hurt, I've had a few burns too and that one sounds real nasty.
Hope it heals well.

I would suggest seeking medical treatment so you won't have too much scarring. Trust me, females don't necessarily like scars.

Actually Velma said that........

Shaggy says "Zoiks".....

I feel for you, getting a burn injury has to be one of the most painful types of injuries to get.... good luck....

Alex that sounds like a serious burn you have there, you should have it checked out by a doctor. Also, if you ever burn yourself again, grab a bowl and fill it will cool water (not ice COLD water nor use actual ice) and soak it. If you do this first thing after you burn yourself, it takes the pain away significantly. Depending on how bad the burn, keep it in the water for a good half an hour to an hour. When you finally take the burn out of the water, it will probably start hurting right off again, but give it a few minutes, it should calm down and be much better. I've done this many times and it works like a charm. Not sure if this method will work for you now, as I don't know how long it has been since your burnt yourself, but if it really starts to throb it couldn't hurt maybe to try. Your hand will most likely start to blister up soon, let it, it is your body's way of keeping the wounds safe.

I still think you need to see a doctor though, because of the bleeding part. Take care of yourself fella!
