I've been playing BG for quite some time and until now I've never had a single problem. I'm in Chapter 5 and when I enter a house that's located just east of the fair (where you speak with the diviner) I get the following error -
An Assertion failed in D:\Dev\Baldur\ObjCreature.cap at line number 8786 I would be eternally grateful if anyone out there could help me fix this. I have TotSC installed as well if that has any bearing on anything. Thanks and well met... ~BLEAKER~ |

I had this problem but it was so long ago I cant remember exactly how I solved it - sorry to be vague!
It's a bug due to a missing .CRE or .chr file (probably .CRE as you quote it saying "ObjCreature.cap") I think I so;ved it by copying a different .CRE file into the 'override' folder and renaming it as the missing one - infact I'm sure the error message that came up for me named the missing file as *****.CRE, so I knew what to change it to. Having done that I could enter the house. It was just a normal house though - nothing spectacular inside. However be careful what .CRE file you copy in - it'll be waiting in the house to greet you! |

Hey - I can't see my last reply so I don't know what's up with that - hope you can!
Anyway I checked it out. Copy and paste a .CRE file into the 'override' folder in your 'Baldurs Gate' folder on your PC. Rename the file "GIRLBA1.CRE". Next time you play you'll be able to enter the house. |

That's ok - glad to help.
Yeah, there was just a little gold, chainmail armour, and scrolls of invisibility and friends in there... |
