Mages don't have a shot against a few dart throwers. I still have my archers; but, the folks who can't use bows can throw three a round. The only problem is that they go fast; so, they take up a lot of room when you are clearing out areas and can't go to the towns. Another problem is that most of the charactors that don't use bows have only one quick slot available. Entangles are very good at low level; especialy, in getting high XP from powerfull creatures. Example - that kissing chick south of Candlekeep. Even if it dosen't work, you can run away from her while everyone uses ranged weapons. 5,000 XP ! Be carefull though, very dangerous area; but, lots of loot and XP.

Good points, I like having at least one dart thrower in my party.

Quick small damage disrupts all spells. poison works as well.

Yea but very often mages still manage to get spells off, no matter what you do to them. That is sooo annoying....

Hi Telchar of Nogrod !!
About the "kissing chick" ... SPOILER

- There is no need to kill her. if you let her kiss a member of your party and then fight her, she will surrender and say that shes captive of an ogre mage, if you agree to help her she will revive your dead member and the ogre will appear. you gain less xp this way, but he has a very good helmet.

How about doing the quest and then killing her? Can you still get the XP and maintain your rep.?

You can even disrupt magic Missile!
Just have everyone on darts
You'll be throwing 18 separate darts per round. OUCH!
