Fav weapon (and why)

What are your favorite weapons and why? Mine is either Blackrazor ir the Staff of the Magi. Blackrazor because it is so cool, it can laval drain, regenerates you, hastes you, heals you, the works. The staff of the magi is cool because it makes you invisible and protected from evil, it has spell trap, and it casts a Fireball/lightning combo.

Mine has to be Carsomyr(Holy avenger) simply because it rocks!! And after that blackrazor. Because im evil!! BWAHAHAHA daystar is also quite good. Not forgetting Celestial fury!

At first, i thought Blackrazor was good. Then i realized that if it hastes you twice in any one-day period, you become fatigued. Not good. That in mind:

SoA: Carsomyr +5
Staff of the Magi
Crom Faeyr
Celestial Fury
Scimitar +5, Defender (heehee)
Dwarven Thrower (with blunt damage patch)
and others...

ToB: all of the +5/+6 weapons, (there is one +5 for each 1h proficiency except katana, and +6 for each 2h) but specifically:
Ravager +6
Carsomyr +6
Ixil's Spike +6
Axe of the Unyeilding +5
Foebane +5
Angurvadal +5
and others...

There is a much decreased armor selection for "best", since basically armors don't have extra stuff except armor class. in SoA, it is generally a tossup between Armor of the Hart and Robe of Vecna. In ToB, it is a tossup between Shuruppak's Plate, White Dragon Scale, Grandmaster's Armor +6, and Robe of Vecna. Shields: Shield of the Order, Fortress Shield.

Note that these are my favorites because they are the best. my favorite (but not ultrapowerful) weapon is actually K'logarath +4. Unfortunately, there is a bug with ToB that means Carras may or may not sell this to you. CLUA it to yourself and CLUA out some gold. (CLUAConsole:AddGold("-75000"), etc.)

I ahven't got far enough into the game for those, but currently I'm at De' Arnise hold and the Chaos Sword +3 is very nice.

It's not the strongest weapon, but I like the Flail Of Ages most - It's so nice to see your enemies slowed (most of them anyway)... Besides, IIRC I don't think you can sell it, so if you're not playing a strong tank or a mage, you might as well try wielding FoA.

Celestial Fury rocks too, though you have to work to get it

But I think one nice weapon that doesn't get much attention is the Impaler +3 spear; you're guaranteed 10 piercing damage on top of the regular damage... with your bonuses it becomes pretty damn strong. Minsc seemed to get more damage out of that weapon than any other I gave him.

And the Staff of Wonders/Miracles with 50!! charges is the best weapon in the game.

Now, my favourite weapon in BG2 is the Carsomyr. Lovely damage, nice 'abilities', cool look, and upgradeable in ToB. Nice weapon. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Celestial fury and Flail of the ages.
They have excellent abilities are +3 and available early on the game
