Has anyone ever seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Sir Taliesin's little rant reminded me of a scence in that movie.
(A crowd of people drag a woman with a pointy hat and a long nose to their leader) Crowd: She's a witch! Burn her! Leader: How do you know she's a witch? Normal looking man: She turned me into a newt! Leader: (Looks at him funny) A newt? NLM: ..... Well... I got better. Sorry, just reminded me of that. |

Wow! A thread containing Tolkien, Monty Python, and blasphemy!
Yes, I've seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but only 15 times or so ![]() Sir Taliesin, you are not alone in your admiration of the great Mr. Tolkien, I too have this same respect and admiration. I've read ALL of the books released by Mr. Tolkien (this is not those that were released after his death from works compiled from notes that Tolkien made). I've read The Lord of the Rings 5 times and The Hobbit 3 times. Epona! Don't you know that many of the games that we all play would be much different and considerably less enjoyable if not for J.R.R. Tolkien's many works?! Hobbits (and Halflings to some extent) wouldn't exist! Elves ( ![]() -Jafin P.S. Epona, j/k, I meant every reason for Tolkien's greatness that I said but you don't HAVE to agree ![]() ------------------ ![]() I am Jafin, arch-mage of the HADB clan! |

![]() Wulfere, I don't really consider the BOOK OF LOST TALES to be a true Tolkein book. It was just his working notes. For me, the last true Tolkein book was UNFINISHED TALES. Any thing after that was just too jumbled to be readable. Christopher Tolkein should have stopped there. I have read THE LORD OF THE RINGS and THE HOBBIT at least 30 times a piece. I always have enjoyed them. When I went to Desert Storm in 1990, I took my BIBLE and Tolkien's Boxed Set with me. Man I HATE this keyboard!!! ![]() ------------------ Sir Taliesin ![]() If they take my gun can I still use my Axe?
