Hello, Yanni!

Dualling is simply to dual (combine) your character with another class. To use one of the most popular as an example, the Kensai/Mage. Then you start up the game as a Kensai (must be human!!!), and plays with him, before you might want to expand his abilities. Then you go to the Character screen, and chooses the 'Dual'-option. Then you will come to a new screen, where it asks which class you want to dual to, etc. But you cannot dual to all classes, you must meet special needs in different things. Eg if you're planning to dual to a Mage, you must have 16 intelligence and stuff like that. Then, after choosing ok, your character will be a Kensai/Mage.
A good level to dual IMO, is 13-14. Cause by that time, you have played long enough with your character to know if you really want to dual him/her.

A good multiclass combo IMO, is Glorfindel's speciality Fighter/Mage. But the best one for a solo is probably the Fighter/Mage/Thief, cause then you have all the important abilities.
For dualling, I enjoy the Kensai/Mage. Cause then you wil have lots of good abilities, you will have both a good warrior and a spellcaster, etc.
But there isnt one who is the strongest, hear with other people too, and maybe try a bit yourself to find out which one you like best.

Enjoy dualling!

Yeah, Kensai/Mage is a very popular dual. The other 2 most popular ones (as far as I can tell at least), are the Kensai/Thief (who will get rediculous backstab abilities, between his Kensai weapon skills and backstab multipliers), and the Ranger/Cleric. The basic idea with the Ranger/Cleric is that you'll have the basic fighter abilities and attacks, but at the same time, the Ranger part gives you Druid spells. Which is awesome, because certain levels (3 comes to mind) occur when there aren't too many useful cleric spells, but there are useful druid spells (i.e. the insect family)

A good one if my opinion of the ULTIMATE caster is a cleric/mage. that way, you have cleric spells (healing and such) but you also have mage spells. Whats the diff between dual class and multiclass? i get confused

Only humans can dual..think of it as a changing of profession. Its a time when the hero decides to stop being whatever he is (fighter/mage/theif/cleric whatever) and start training in a new vocation. In game terms, you stop progressing in your first class, and lose all abilities from that class, but start progressing in your new chosen class, with all the special abilities and stuff attached. You only regain the abilities of your first class when the level of your second class surpasses that of the first..(eg. lvl 11 fighter duals to mage. You're a pure mage from lvls 1-10, but at 11 you become a fighter/mage. note that at this point you only gain exp for your mage class.)
Multiclassing, however, is something only non-humans can do, and you've got to choose it at the beginning of the game. When you multiclass, you can use the abilities of all the basic classes you choose (no kits), and all the exp you earn is divided equally among all the classes. That means you progress in levels slower than a dual or single classed character, and you cap out at lower levels, but you're more versatile. If you've got TOB, you dont have to worry about capping out much, so it just means you get the special abilities later, but end up being a lot more powerful
