The only problem with Diablo 1 is that after playing Diablo 2 you'll miss being able to run. If they released a patch for D1 implementing character running, I know I'd start playing it again.

Diablo got 9.something on gamespot... And not a single "wow the game was amazing" comment here. I can't believe it's all that bad.

I like Diablo2. I won't call it game-of-the-year material, but it is good clean simple-minded fun. I still play it in short sessions.

The tedium only sets in if you force yourself to play it( whether to level-up or to farm).

I do however, use a 3rd-party program called ATMA in order to allow item trading between my single-player characters( I don't play on Battlenet with Diablo2).

Favourite class in Diablo2 is the Necromancer. [img]smile.gif[/img] Always fun to have an army of Skeletons and Revives. I play a variant of what is known as the Zookeeper-build.

You can really get into diablo 2 quickly- kurast ruins it somewhat with its drab surroundings but its definitly worth the price- diablo 1 is really good too- you can give a warrior mage abilities and vice versa something which i missed in diablo 2

I remember really liking both games - in 4th and 6th grade, respectively. Never bothered getting the expansions for either, because they just didn't seem worth it.

Diablo 2 is good if you like being frustrated because you picked the wrong skill ten hours ago and now you can't get the last skill in your chosen tree because you wanted to be diverse. I stopped playing it because that was back in the day of dial-up and it was a horrible pain to run for twenty minutes, get a lag spike and die. Diablo 1 I thought was much more fun. The atmosphere got progressively creepier, but the monsters weren't too diverse - every new area they would add one or two new type and a different take on the old ones.

Both games have an online community populated almost entirely by hackers, exploiters, and scammers. Surprisingly the first one does still have some people on. The second one gets a server wipe so frequent it's not even worth the bother.
