As usual on 24th december I'm making this sort of thread out of sheer boredom waiting for Xmas to start, the folks are of to church, I'm watching the pots and like last three years lets make a list...
I never bought as many new games before as this year, got a new computer and lots of free time and took up my old hobby as a serious gamer... so here they are in no special order

1. Medival 2 Total War. (didn't live up to my expectation... basicly just Rome with new graphics... but I still love it)
2. Company of Heroes (best RTS game since.... Warcraft 2. The defence of Caratan level is worth the price alone... )
3. Oblivion (Of course, even if it stink originally, but after installing 56 various mods its somewhat playable... Real Combat and Mercenaries Mods are great together )
4. Flatout 2 (Burnout on PC... fast furious and just great fun... and has several songs by Rob Zombie in it... can't get better... )
5. Linerider (yes, the Flash Game http://www.linerider.com , so much fun, if only I could have played this as a kid with pen and paper...

Hmmm... top 5 games of the year? I don't think I even played 5 brand new games TBH but the best games I played this year were:
Dragon Quest VIII (Ps2) best console RPG ever!
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (PS2)
Disgaea 2 (PS2)
Football Manager 2007 (PC)

Can't think of any more

I might get attacked for this, but IMO, 2006 was a down year for games, maybe due to the fact that a lot of time was spent on Wii and PS3 rather than on the games. That being said, there were some great games released. But I am really looking forward to 2007, which as of now looks to have a handful of excellent releases.

For 2006, I didn't buy too many games, but I have to rate Zelda: Twilight Princess as my favorite one.

My list for most anticipated releases in 2007 is:

1. Assassin's Creed: looks incredible! It may end up being one of the greatest games ever created IMO.
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Devil May Cry - who doesn't want to see the sequel?
4. Prince of Persia 4...?

Top 5? I only bought a few games for the whole year. Let's see now...

1. Galactic Civilization 2 ~ This game is as fun as Star Trek : Birth of The Federation. Too bad bugs cut short my gaming.

2. Call of Duty 2 ~ Though this game isn't as good as the previous one or the previous expansion. I still had fun with it. Since my character cannot die no matter how many hits taken and the extreme fast hp regeneration. LOL!

3. Kult : Heretic Kingdom ~ An interesting storyline with several endings for your character. Quite fun although the game is rather short for an RPG.

4. Oblivion ~ If I had bought more games, this one will not make it into top 5. Apart for the awesomeness of the graphic, this game has nothing else to offer.

That's about the games that I have bought this year. I have Phantasy Star Universe also but I still haven't install it yet.
