I am surprised especially on this forum that Planescape Torment was only mentioned twice. Never have i been so intrigued by a game i have been with PS:T. The story was, setting even better and the characters were brilliant. I never had the feeling that i just had to play on to see where the story leads me more then in PS:T.
Having said that the problem with PS:T might be that more then anything its almost more like an advanture then an RPG which might be a turndown for some

I still think FF4 has the best soundtrack of all FF. What I like about the music is that it always felt appropriate, it was composed well, and it was catchy and easy to remember--I have not played the game in over 6 years and I can still remmeber all of the soundtracks with a little bit of digging in my memory, whereas I have just recently replayed FF6, FF7, and FF9 and I am finding it difficult to remember any scores from those games. I liked the characters in the story as well and they all seemed to have their place and all had their own story and reason for being a part of the group. The only 'meh' character was the bard, but even he had his place. I have never liked games that throw a whole pile of rather useless and underdeveloped characters at you (I have always felt that FF6 was cool because it had a pile of playable characters--but I found I only used about half during any game that I have played which sort of seemed a waste to me, especially when you needed to build them up for times when you had to play them. Of course, it led to more replayability since you could try the game with a different group, which is not necessarily bad). I also think that the story is awesome. It was rather simple, but well done for the most part. The problem was, once you played the game once, there were not really any secrets left to be found. Anyway, I did not plan to write a book, but I did. I just wanted to drop off my 2 cents!

![]() P.S - Which FF was 4? The games all got a bit confusing at that stage of the series depending on whether you came from Japan, Europe or the US, e.g FF6 was released as FF3 over here. |

[/QUOTE]Don't worry, that is sort of how I feel about FF4 (although I played the original first, FF4 was far superior). FF4 was actually released as FF2 on the SNES in the US.

Might & Magic III Isles of Terra was pretty much the finest moment in my personal gaming history. That series in general reached some climatic gnostic experience whence it imploded leaving us the scraps of a half finished revelation that is the ninth release. Too bad really.
