It has fog and helps a lot. would be nice if you could click on it and it showed the whole map , but it helped me find some stuff in the forbidden lands.

yay

Hurrah!!!

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Does this latest patch hurt your previous games - makes them unplayable or anything like that??

Do you mean the whole map remains hidden until you've explored it, or do you mean that there's no way to look at the entire map at one time? "Entire map" meaning everything you've explored, that is...

I'm curious on the implication for the save games. If it doesn't hurt them, I'll upgrade immediately.

Save games are not affected by the patch.

Ya the only bug ive seen is that the added little screenshot doesnt work right until you save again. which is pretty minor.

Um well it only shows a small area around where you are, and the areas you havent been are fogged which is very helpful when wandering around an area like I was searching for the fighter quest guy and i finally found him by unfogging the whole area where he was supposed to be

But you cant click on the map and show the whole world or a larger area the map is always the small area around you is what i meant.

Not only does the map work great taking into account the details Mr. Mighty has provided, you also see the following on the map:

* campsites
* interactive objects in dungeons/wilderness areas
* Towers (such as Staroxia's & Grymlok's)

The automap is a beautiful thing as it helps me to find those pesky treasure chests hidden in the gameworld. I have found that there are no adverse affects in updating to ver 1.3

I loaded the patch earlier today and played for a couple of minutes... the minimap is quite nice! It would be nice if it were more transparent (like in... Arx Fatalis, I think), but I'll take it

Now, to get back in for some gaming tonight. I'm in the Vale of Ruins and decided to go into the Temple of Draedoth. I'm almost done with it... and Dina Thebes is powerful enough that most critters don't bother her. Except that nasty pox witch who kept immobilizing her with twisting vines and sleep... *THAT* was a frustrating battle

Got to try the automap this afternoon! Glad to have it but too bad I have to retrace my steps to get some areas filled in.

I had saved my game down at the moonbridge in the forbidden lands and then headed back up to Bolen Fields to visit Mr. G if I can find him. Knew there was a Moonbridge up in the Talendor area so got that on the minimap - but it didn't show me the option for the Forbidden Lands - maybe because I didn't have the needed runes? Hope I don't have to take the long way back there again.

Still hate bats and bees and things in the air. Magic does pretty well on them but otherwise they are harder to target than they should be(e) lol!!!
