Despite its bugs and slow performance, this game is superb. People complain that the combat isn't fun but I quite liked it(flaying enemies with an axe and a katana was particularly thrilling). The soundtrack was also very cool, not to mention the dark atmosphere. It's so far the only 3D RPG that I can say is as good as the good old ones.
By 'the good old ones,' I mean Planescape: Torment, the BG series, the Fallout series and Icewind Dale. ![]() Now for the spoilers.. Having a mysterious taxi driver, who turns out to be none other than the Father of All Vampires Caine himself, guide you choose your path was nice. However, I didn't like the sarcophagus surprise - I was looking forward to meeting an insanely powerful Antediluvian or somesuch. Opening the sarcophagus only to trigger explosives seemed like an unclimatic ending to me. By the way, I started a new game with a Malkavian. If you haven't tried Malky out, I recommend you to do so as he is very fun to play with. What did you think of the ending? |

First time I blowed myself up, then reloaded and did the lonewolf ending.
It was ok, the acheologist vampire tell you not to open it. Jack tell you not to open it. The last email you get from your "friend" say "Don't open it"... Worse ending? Siding with the asian vampires...

I got blown up the first time.....
For you, it seems there isn't really a good ending, only some loner-stuff. Jack is cool. I wanted to play different games with the Anarchs and such, but the endings just aren't that rewarding. I really wanted to play like another Beckett, but the game doesn't quite allow for that, or at least, I didn't feel that way. Still, like uss says, "...so far the only 3D RPG that I can say is as good as the good old ones".
