All my missions are in Skyway City and Steel Canyon now, but I'm at level 10, so it's back to getting killed all over again! I probably will have to join a team until I'm at least level 12. I was trying to get to a costume store I heard was in the NE corner of Steel Canyon when I got attacked by a group of lv14 5th column enemies. Do you know if it's even there?

How many times do I have to go back to being weak whenever I enter a new area?

edit: It slows down every half hour for a couple of minutes, and the fact that others are onscreen could be a coincidence.

There's a tailor in the NE corner of Steel, yes. It's called Icon. Make sure you have enough cash though. There's also one in Independance Port and in Founders Falls.

Sadly you will feel weak (as well as bewildered and awed) entering most new areas. Worry not though, as when you get to 14 you will then gain your travel power (fly, teleport, jump) making it harder to run into trouble and easier to avoid.

FYI if you haven't already make sure you have picked your first pool power from your travel set i.e. Hover, teleport foe etc.

I know there are other people here that play COH also, just gotta get a hold of 'em.

I have the pool power set 'fitness', so I run fast and jump higher, but that doesn't really help when there's someone with a grenade launcher standing there. At lv14 I get a health regeneration bonus. How much does a new costume cost? Or does it vary? I've got 12k of influence, mostly due to the fact that I can't yet use the lv15 enhancements.

edit: I joined a team and SG. I was able to finish my PP missions, since they were already going there. After a while, we left the forest to do someone else's mission, and when they TP me out of the forest, it killed my connection. I found them again, but the TP to get there kills my connection again. I gave up for now.

You have kinda gimped yourself with working on the fitness power set up to now. At 14 you can pick the second pool power and since you are getting health you won't be able to get a travel power yet. Everyone will have one at that time and you will be reduced to sprinting still. If you wanted to jump or run better you should have gone for superjump or superspeed as your travel powers.

Not to worry though, you can get a travel power later but like I said, you will be without one for a few levels and probably left behind in teams while the others speed, jump, fly or teleport ahead.

The fitness pool is a good one only for the last power set, Stamina. Health is OKAY but will make little difference unless you slot it with 6 enhanements. You will be far from invulnerable so don't think you are. Most don't bother slotting it (I don't). Stamina is great make sure you slot it with 6 slots.

Costumes cost more the higher you level. That's just the way it is. Changing a color anywhere will cost about 900 influence. Changing something like a pattern or your characters face will cost alot more so be careful. I have wasted quite a bit trying to tweak it. At 20 you can get an extra costume slot opened up. This will be an alternate costume for you.

There's generally always someone who can teleport friend. Everyone needs to be teleported when they get killed. And ressurected. And when finding things in Perez Park. I kinda wanted a second costume, but I found out I had to be lv20, so I just left. I picked fitness since it could restore health and endurance, even though I already have both with regeneration. I probably shouldn't have, but I hate standing around healing, and rest takes too long to recharge. I'll get that self-healing power on my next levelup.

Just before I came here and posted this, I kinda made a fool of myself. I was in Perez Park when I joined a team on the SG I'm in, and they had a mission in Perez Park, but I got killed by lag when running by some Vazhilok. By the time I got back to Perez Park, they had gone on to another mission. I didn't realize it, but they were in King's Row. I was wandering around Perez Park looking for them and wondering why there wasn't a waypoint anymore for 15 minutes. Then I realized my mistake, but they understandably knocked me off the team, and then my connection went even worse and kicked me off the server.

I am having trouble with this game. I love it, but when the update came out and I downloaded it, it said my video drivers needed to be updated. So I updated. Since then, I can't play, because everything is super slow. I get to the login screen and type my name, then spend 30 seconds watching each asterisk (*) appear one by one, evry few seconds. Then it takes forever to choose a server (I click on one and it registers a minute and a half later) and after choosing my character, I have waited up to 20 minutes without getting into the game. I'd like to go back to my old drivers, but I don't know how. I am pretty upset. I was checking every day for Through the Looking Glass to come out, then when it did, I was denied access to the bloody game.
Grr.

Can't you download the previous drivers or reinstall the software for the graphics card? Mine is mostly slow when I switch areas. Once it took 10 minutes, and it takes a couple minutes to load the login screen and to quit the game, for me.

The key to slowdown is more RAM. Max it out if you can. Arnabas you obviously have a different issue if it was working perfect before. Make sure you email support, they really are helpful! Don't be discouraged, keep trying.

I did email support and they had me run a few tests. Now I just have to wait for advice on how to proceed. It's just frustrating, though, not being able to play. Now all the people I used to game with will be a dozen levels above me. Sigh.

I've got a problem too, now. When I click a server, it waits a minute and then goes back to the login screen and says CannotConnectDbServer. Has something happened to it? It did this yesterday, but it seemed to fix itself around 7:00 pm. Now it's doing it again today. Is it a common problem, or should I contact support? Oh, and we did have to reset our modem or something by calling Time Warner when we couldn't get AOL to connect, if that has something to do with it.

I don't think this is ressurecting an old thread since it was still on the second page, being less than 30 days old since the last post.

edit: I emailed support, and as far as I know, they're asking me to do something impossible. They want me to put my reply between two lines in the email that look like this:
