Dammit...I swear the times on Tatooine are impossible. I only just beat the first one. How on earth are you supposed to do the second? (23:29 or something). Someone please give me tips, I avoid all the obstacles, even pass like 98% of the speed pads but I can never do it. Is there an easier or a function that I've missed? I mean, I know you're only supposed to move up a gear when the dial at the bottom is red (I have the PC version of KOTOR btw) but I still cannot do it. Is there someother boost function? I really appreciate any help, this has me tearing out my hair!

There are no upgrades for you swoop. End of story.

To win the race, you would have to figure out your path, ploting through the path as straight as possible, while hitting many pads (speed booster) as possible.

Tip:

1. Some pads are located too far off course, you might want to forgo it or you will be wasting seconds of your time trying to hit it. It is not worth it.

2. Switch gears as soon as your swoop indicator blinks.

It takes many tries to be the Gand Champion and I didn't have the patience nor the "skill" to go through all that stuff.

Since I am not so dextereous myself, I have only managed to win only 1(one) race in Manaan.

But being an avid Pazaaak player, I managed to raise quite a lot of money from this cool variant of Black Jack. (so-to-speak)

If you're really having trouble with swoop racing, take note: All the times for Tatooine and Manaan are based on your times on Taris. If you want swoop bike racing o be easy, then race really badly on Taris (don't worry, you'll probably still win there too).

As an aside, though, after a bit of practice I tend to average in the 22s 30 - 22s 60 range, so it is possible.

I doubt that really works. I sucked at Taris on purpose. I managed to finish with 30.xx seconds but still the time to beat in Tatooine (first tier) is still 23.xx (Or was it 24.XX?).

Anyway, what you did on Taris circuit has no influence on other worlds. Otherwise there would be people cursing at Bioware's forum about swoop racing. Not to mention countless inquiries on "swoop upgrade(s)".

It works, it all depends on how fast you race on Taris. And as everyone thinks they need to race fast on Taris, they need to break record-times on the other planets.

This must be sarcasm, surely? Because once upon a time, there WERE lots of people griping about swoop racing.

Oops... my mistake. It was supposed to be:

Anyway, what you did on Taris circuit has no influence on other worlds. Otherwise there WOULDN'T be SOO MANY people cursing at Bioware's forum about swoop racing. Not to mention countless inquiries on "swoop upgrade(s)".

Sometimes I just post without reading it thoroughly.

Posts like swoop upgrades poped up in Bioware's forum from time to time, not to mention the number of people cursing about swoop racing.

Anyway, from what I gathered from various FAQs and posts from Bioware forum, it seems that how good/bad you did on Taris has no impact on the "time to beat" on other circuits.

Personally, it is quite true... unless there is a chance that some of my older games might have altered the overall difficulty of the race courses but I doubt that very much.

I think that's wrong. Sidious was a Senator when Darth Vader was born (or thereabouts) and during the clone wars -- which occurred 10 or 20 years prior to Episode IV, which is still a coupole of years prior to when we first see him in Empire.

Yeah, but old Lucas didn't even bothered to explain why everyone aged, except Amidala. Must be that Magical Naboo Spring water she's been drinking or Anakin just aged faster so that he could *ahem* bang her.
