Installation problem...

Due to some mods and unofficial patches that seriously messed the game up, I've just uninstalled my game (+ removed all the files that remain after the uninstall).
Now when I try to reinstall everything goes smoothly until I'm asked for CD2, when I insert the disc and press ok I'm immediately asked for CD3, CD4 and finally CD5... What the f***, there is no CD5 and no matter what disc I insert the installation won't progress any further.
Unless the installation program is psionic it can't mean the ToB disc as it shouldn't know that I own ToB, and inserting this disc doesn't do anything either.
Does anyone know what's going on, what I'm doing wrong and what can be done, as im getting really frustrated?
Please help before I recycle my computer!

This has also happened to me! I WANT HELP TOO!
Have u installed ToB? I thort this might have somefink to do with it, but when I insert the disk it sez that no disk can be found.

I had ToB installed, but should be gone with the uninstall as well. Afterwards I manually deleted every folder/file relating to BG, because my game was so buggy I didn't want to take any chances, but make a clean start.

Well Horatio you are now the only one stuck in the that old boat!
I did a search on the subject and found out that when you are prompted for cd5, inserting CD1 might just work (it didn't for me).
I just kept restarting the installation and eventually it worked.

Check out the Black Isle Forums. This is a known problem and there should be some information there that will help you out.
